Golden Saints

So what happened to all of the Golden Saints? Was there a bit of lore that I missed along the way that explains their absence? I miss them.

All of the "Saints" made "Row" boats and left the island.

Right, I realize that this is Solstheim...

The Golden Saints were everywhere in Morrowind. WIth a lot of the creatures and fauna moving into Southern Solstheim...wouldn't Golden Saints begin to appear as well? They were a Summonable creature in Morrowind, and with the Telvanni Mage making an appearance...just thinking out loud here.

Because it takes that many of them to satiate Sheogorath's carnal desires.

And copious amounts of cheese. Or the total absence of cheese. That could be just as exiting if he doesn't like cheese true?

The Golden Saints were everywhere in Morrowind.

Not on Solstheim.

And there was the Oblivion Crisis, Daedra don't roam the land freely anmyore like in daedric Morrowind.
Perhaps Neloth could have a pet Aureal, but also, he may not have one this century. Maybe come back the next.

I see what you did there.

@Geed, I agree that Bethesda can be lazy but I don't think it's really fair to blame this one on laziness. Golden Saints have no real place in Dragonborn.

Wouldn't the Twlvanni Mage have brought along one of the most powerful summons?

Why should he summon them when he does not need them right now? Perhaps he got the spell and doesn't care right now.

If I remember right I used to summon them and kill them for their soul so I could make my Telvanni tower. Now that I think about it I kind of miss them too, they added to the scenery and were a nice summon as well in both Morrowind and Shivering Isles.

Golden Saints on Solstheim make about as much sense as Flame Atronachs in Skyrim.

And there are plenty of Flame Atronachs in Skyrim. Of course, there are also Orc Strongholds all over the place, but no Ogrim; no Winged Twilights, even though there's a shrine to Azura; no Hungers, even though there's a shrine to Boethiah; no Scamps, even though there's a shrine to Mehrunes Dagon; and no Daedroth or Clannfear.

Again, Bethesda is lazy. There are perks for swords, maces, and axes, but you're only able to conjure a one-handed sword or two-handed axe with the Bound Weapon spells.

It's an RPG, but no one in their right mind needs all those choices, no! Ugh.

Bethesda is lazy.

How anyone can call Bethesda lazy considering all that is contained within Skyrim and it's DLC is inane.

I think they're talking in comparison to older games.
For a video game, Skyrim is the [censored].
For a TES game, Skyrim IS [censored].

Bethesda is lazy.

I know it's offf-topic but, how can you define them as lazy? Credit has to be given when it's due, in this generation I haven't seen games that pack this amount of content and the DLCs have way more content than many other full retail games. Maybe they left things out and maybe it's ridden with bugs but with a content so massive and so many underlying systems working together, thanks God someone still makes games like this and not only railed-shooters.
