Good Assassin Armor?

Post » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:48 am

Is there any good armor for assassins/thiefs that comes un-enchanted? All I can think of is leather armor, and I don't really want to wear the worn shrouded armor since it looks horrendous

Fur, Hide, Studded, Leather, Elven, Scaled, Elven Gilded, Glass, Dragonscale, Worn Shrouded, Forsworn, Variety of Guard Equipment, Imperial Light Armor, Penitus Oculatus Armor, Stormcloak Armor, Stormcloak Officer Armor, Thalmor Light Armor (Thalmor Specific Elven Armor).

Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head that are un-enchanted. Keep in mind that for the Stormcloak Officer Armor, the boots are Light Armor, and will raise your Light Armor skill, but are considered Heavy for some reason and are effected by Heavy Armor perks and skill, so you won't be able to get the set bonus using that set unfortunately.

Good luck.

I should add that there are also a few pieces of Light Armor that are un-enchanted, but cannot be equipped by the player.

Worn Shrouded armor is Unenchanted DB armor. You get it by finishing the DB questline and upgrading the sanctuary

They said it looks horrendous, and I agree. (Although, it doesn't look too bad on female characters I will say. My female Nord looks pretty nice in them. But otherwise, I despise the DB armor in Skyrim.)

Anyway, all the armors I listed should be everything in the game as far as I know. I just checked UESP and I pretty much listed everything there is. Hope that helped you!

Assassins should go with light armor, and there is plenty of light armor in the game.

When you get up to 100 smithing (which is easy to achieve, as smithing levels pretty fast), you can create dragonscale armor, the best light armor in the game. It will come unenchanted when you create it at a forge. With 100 smithing and even a half-decent fortify smithing potion, you can improve dragonscale armor so that, even without a shield, it gives you the maximum protection that the game will register (that is, 667 armor rating, both displayed and hidden, which results in a reduction of 80% non-magical damage).

Check UESP for more details on armor. Here's a direct link:

i agree that it svcks but it is the most assassin-looking armor in the game. I miss OB's DB armor but this is what he got

The shrouded armor is some of my favorite armor in the game! Different tastes, I suppose.

Perhaps hide armor? You could also try an assassin in robes or clothing. That's a lot of fun, and it helps sneaking.

I don't mind it on Females. I can't stand it on Males though.

I think it looks awesome on my male assassin. Although he is a Bosmer, as opposed to a buff Nord or something.

I dont like it because it is just patched red leather over black leather along with a horrid cowl, as well as the shrouded robes are not even robes at all

Two words. Light Armour or Lite Armor.

Do not forget about Linwe's Armor, you could use that. It doesn't look too bad and it is Light Armor.

Get a set of guard armor. Lull people into a false sense of security, then strike when they least expect it.
