Good Games for a LAN party?

Post » Sat Aug 10, 2013 8:22 pm

So me and a couple of mates had a lan party last night.

Great craic.

Started off with the traditonal COD 4, moved up to Age of Mythology(Which became a farm-off basically) and moved on to the surprise hit of the night, SWAT 4. (It was confusing at first, lots of TKs, was okay was when we started killing the right people, became bloody hilarious when someone started using pepper spray, ascended to must play every night when we discovered VIP.)

So were setting up for a second night with even more people and some good games for a laugh.

Any recommendations?

Left 4 Dead 2 came to mind immediately. Also Age of Empires II, but you've got that one covered.

Black Ops Nazi Zombies is one that I've always enjoyed with several of my friends. Or Black Ops 2 Zombies. They're both good.

Lord of the Rings, Battle For Middle Earth 2. That one is a fun game to play with a group of people. Especially when you do like one person defending Minas Tirith and having 3 other guys laying siege on it and see how long he can last for.

StarCraft 2 is also fun with a group of people in the same room, my friends and I can have a blast with that game.

Diablo 2 is also another good LAN party game.

Battlefield 1942 or Battlefield 3. These games though are much more challenging then call of duty and may take some time to get good at, but once you're all good at it, it becomes a hell of a lot of fun.

That's all I can think of right off the top of my head. I'm sure I can think of a lot more if I took some time, so maybe ill add some more here in the near future.

Team Fortress: Classic was a LAN staple for me back in the day. Command and Conquer: Zero Hour is also perfect for four players. And you probably can't go wrong with an FPS classic like Unreal Tournament: 2003.
