Good Playstyle for a Dark Elf?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 2:33 pm

So, my last character I kind of messed up beyond repair. I created a Breton, then levelled up his destruction and conjuration magic for the first few levels. I then decided to upgrade his 1 handed. It was all good for a while until I heard about this iron dagger smithing technique. Me, being the greedy, short sighted individual levelled this to 92, and could forge everything but dragon, glass, and scale. My smithing had taken my level up to about 30, although my combat levels were that of a level 15. Because of this, I was fighting level 30 enemies with level 15 combat skills... as well as all of this, at one point I wasted a lot of my perks here there and everywhere, so I was a jack of all trades. Alright at everything, but a master at nothing.

I just created a new character (Dark Elf) with a game plan... but I'm new to TES so I may need so advice. I was thinking of being a heavy armour, 1 handed, destruction, conjuration, archery hybrid with some smithing and speech thrown in there, too. Although I won't mass produce iron daggers this time.

So what do you think? Do I need to be more specific? I feel like I'm trying to concentrate on too many skills again, and I really don't want to be a jack of all trades again.

Help?

You have way too much going on. 1 handed, destruction, conjuration, and archery? That's like 5 hands.

If it takes you an archery shot, a conjuration, a firebolt, and then a slash from a sword to kill things, something very wrong has happened.

I see... what stone do you think I should pick? Maybe just 1 handed, destruction and a little archery is what I'm thinking?

This. Most of my character concepts make use of two weapon styles. Max.

I did it all the way to 100.
Totally worth it.

What about being a Knight-Necromancer Dark Elf?

1-Handed, Block, Conjuration, Heavy Armor.

Could be fun!

Hmmm... sounds fun actually! What about ranged attacks though?

What about them? :) I think some of the summoms can do that for you. Let the Fire Atronach shoot fire at your enemies!

Or you could dabble in bows I suppose.

Making iron daggers does not level my smithing at all currently, level 75 smithing currently. It does, but it takes like 14 to level it one time. Hardly worth it.
