I gotta admit the enemies you face in this DLC is quite refr

These Riklings are so fun to face. Unlike the Falmer these guys are on par with the cute, short, ruthless enemy variety much like Borderlands 2 Midgets, and Halo 3's Grunts.
It's funny when they ride on the boar and try to attack you. They do quite a lot of damage. It feels fresh. Looting these guys are actually really good. Loot Body and all the items weigh less. So when you actually slay many of these guys they don't have the typical armor sets like found on falmer etc. Simple One loot and collect all. Don't have to think twice on weight of the items which I like. Usually tiny gems and small misc items. It fits their character description and the realistic view of carrying certain things.

Kudos Bethesda you made me laugh and the game felt fun for once.
The core Skyrim game is still bloody annoying though. I bloody hate Falmer and traversing those damn dwemer copy and paste dungeons though.

The Ash spawns are great when they disintegrate makes me think of facing Promethean Knights in Halo 4. I guess it's a cool way to kill these guys, at the same time they fit character description, and it saves on memory when bodies disappear.

Especially since so many of the enemies in Skyrim are fairly mundane i.e., bears, wolves, bandits, etc.

Agreed, it's nice to have something different to the generic bandits, wolves etc.

They are indeed stronger then most enemies in skyrim (not all however, falmers tends to be quite hard for example). Even the basic bandits (reavers) are way way harder then the bandits you run into in skyrim.

I hade to retreat to skyrim and forge new armor to be able to handle the new enemies.

I play on expert on my current char (i can relax at expert, while i from time to time play master i tend to struggle more) and find all the now familiar enemies in skyrim quite easy with only a few expections (level 21 on the current char, only trained normaly, no forced training), but the new dragonborn enemies crushed me at first.

Now after forging a new armor and taking my time learning the new enemies abilites and behavior i have it easier but its still a challenge (a welcome one btw).
