GPU And $$

Post » Sat May 12, 2012 8:37 am

First, sorry if I do any mistakez regards of my english. I am not from U.S. and I am sure you all will understand.

I am searching for a new Graphic Processor. A new GPU.

The problem is: There are many and I am not sure of what I can get. Knowing I'll be buying a GPU from U.S. it's better to discuss with people living in U.S about it.

What could be a good choice? What GPU offers better performance for a good enough price?

Thanks in advance.

Hail $ithis and the Graphics mother.

I like to go by Tom's Hardware's monthly reviews of Best Graphics Cards For The Money. Turns out my GeForce GTX295 which I've had for months is still near the top of the list, awesome. I've had it long enough that I don't remember when I got it, and more impressively, you can still find some for sale. Almost makes me want to get a second since they can be had for under US$300.

You should list the rest of the PCs specs. CPU and RAM basically, CPU being the main importance.

You want the CPU and GPU to complement each other rather than one or the other being bottle-necked by the other.

If the CPU is too slow for the GPU, you've wasted money. (Though you can carry it over to the next build.)

On top of what wolfpup requested, you really should indicate what power supply you have too.

Don't just blindly buy a video card without knowing whether the rest of your PC is adequate enough.

And there's a thread for these types of questions:

Core I5 (last version before I7 came.. can't remember) 2.4~3.2GHZ (over and under cloackable)
4GB Ram 1666MHZ dual-channeled

And 750WR of power supply.

And sorry, didn't understand about the "merging"?

560ti would work well for you then. It's the best for it's price at the moment. If you have a bit of bank to spend, a 570 or 580 would work as well. Depends on how much you're willing to spend. I don't know about the ATI side of things, there might be more value there. But for Nvidia sake, you can start at 560ti and go up.

Depends on what price you get there for the 560 and what price it will be here.
If you know about taxes, these stuff aswell, you can multiply the price of the GPU by 1,80 (approach) and that's the price I'll get.

Maybe for you, 1.000 is fair, but for me it's like 1.800.

Globalization does not exists in terms of importation. :P

Well I can link to a few of them for you, there's a bunch of different versions of each card, I'm not sure which one is the ultimate best in each version. But the prices range from $230 up to $260+ for the 560ti.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130604 -560ti, I like EVGA and there's a $15 promo but you probably won't be able to catch that
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125401 - Cheapest 560ti, it's by Gigabyte and they are a good mobo maker (sometimes) but I don't know about their GPU cards

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130593- 570, by EVGA..one of the cheapest 570s there.

The 580s are all $500 plus on newegg. When Tigs comes back he might be able to find you a cheaper version on another website, he's good at doing that.

Thanks. I'm browsing the websites right now. Let's see what we can get.
Let's see...

There are some $510 and some lower $. That's good. 1/3 of the price if you buy directly from a store here.

Now Let's see about delivery stuff..

I also have a 560, though its not the TI but it is OC'd from the factory and uses 2gb of memory. It also runs Skyrim very well, it too was around $250.

Yeah. Around $250 is a good choice. Since it's not ATI I'm happy.
