I just started and I havn't played any ellectronic games in years with the notable exception of Resident Evil IV. I'm into the game but stopped at the point of getting my first gun, bandages, and ammo off the table, but I can't figure out how to grab them. I've tried every button and combinations on my controller but nothing works. So, i'm not sure if my controller is malfunctioning or what i'm doing wrong.
It's really frustrating getting 2 minutes into the game and can't even get my first weapon!

Please help an old geezer!

Don't have the manual in front of me, but wouldn't you use the same button to grab stuff as the one you activate things with? That's a common convention in games.
