Grave Robbing Quests

This just crossed my mind. Possibly a bit morbid.

Grave robbing for spell components, spare change, death robes and anyting else that people get buried with.

A character runs across information about a dead or live person getting buried. That alone is the quest starter. The character can find this information in a book, scroll, NPC quest stater, over hears a story from a npc in a tavern or wherever.

The stories can vary from a rich noble getting buried to a peasant.

Bottom line is the grave robber in question is going to get body parts most likely( Use these as components, decoratons for housing or whatever (Gruesome I know)) and maybe the grave is empty and they find something else (items, more clues, monsters, etc.).

This in fact would be a treasure hunt like hunting for a buried chest but with a twist.

Somehow when the quest is obtained a level for the quest is figured. Lets use the current level system of 1 - 50. Level one grave robbing quest would be with level one treasure and possible level one monsters. Level 50 grave robbing quest would be with level 50 treasure and level 50 monsters. Higher level Grave Robbing quests could be solo or might even need a team depending on the undead or possible demons that might pop up.

Most likely players would come away with body parts to be used as spell components, potion components and whatever a severed body part can do for decor.

The obvious treasure to be had would be anything from clothing (needing to be cleaned of course), armor, weapons, jewelry etc. etc. Some of this booty could even be magic. Possible some body part may hold some special use. Magic skeletal hand, finger, skull, foot , leg bone, rib...... whatever.

The risk in performing this act would be that the grave robber in question may encounter undead of some form of the same level + 1 or 2 or more levels when they started digging. Maybe the higher the quest level the more undead would pop up.

The disturbed deceased may have been a follower of some god who at that point would start taking vengence out on the grave robber. This vengence could last untill all items are looted or the vengence could last days or untill the grave robber replaced the items and made a tithe.

Some quests might be confined to a simple grave and some quests may have the grave robber venturing into a crypt or tomb where the character finds catacombs or a dungeons of some form.

During these quests the grave robber may stumble upon a larger quest where the grave robber in question finds even more clues leading them to some other quest chain.

I would like to see something like this in addition to the regular buried treasure that players would need to go find. This seems a bit morbid but sounds like it could be a lot of fun.

We usually have lots of Tombs and Barrows to poke around in in TES games. Of course there can always be more reasons to go into them.
