Greybeard Robe Unequipable?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 11:48 am

Hey guys I manually added the Greybeard Robe into my inventory using the command:

player.additem 00036a44 1

It adds one into the inventory and then when I go in to it its not there.

Im wondering if its just plain unequipable or is it because Im a female char?

Maybe the Greybeards are "another race"?

Every Bethesda game has unplayable armor, it's usually just a flag that you can set in the SDK. Although, sometimes the unplayable items don't function correctly without some more effort though.

Yeah this is what I figured, just wanted to confirm it wasnt just me. Too bad those robes are sick!
The two things I remember not being able to lute in OB was Syl and Thanon (i know i got one of those wrong from SI) clothes

I haven't bothered to climb the steps yet, so I can't confirm that they don't work, I was just chiming in and confirming that unplayable items are commonplace. There was much more in vanilla Oblivion v1.0 that you couldn't equip though, but most mods corrected/changed that fact. This mod would only take an amateur modder ten minutes to create, so I'd imagine there will be several flavors of it as soon as we get the kit available to us. Most of the current requests are actually.

Yeah most of the NPC clothing isn't going to show in your inventory, and apparently NPC's have their own static outfits.
You can force an NPC to wear different clothing, but it will eventually get reset.
I tried to make my character's wife wear Nocturnal's clothing (Skimpy cleavage clothing :D) it worked, but as soon as I left my house and re-entered she reset back to her default clothing.
You also get some strange results when you do SetNPCWeight and they reset, for me their heads unclipped from their body and they started producing blocky shadows.
