Greybeards Revealed

More than that. The last Dragonborn they met was Tiber Septem and that was a little over 600 years ago.

You should get those robes after your "initiation" or "training" or whatever ragerama goes down on the throat of the world.

Graybeards? What's the big deal about them? If you don't feel like explaining, link me to a lore source so I may know their significance?

I'm sure they'd give Chris Plummer's voice to the highest Greybeard. That's the best they're going to get.

Hmm, maybe Chris Plummer voices more than 1 greybeard?

Makes me wonder why they get dressed in all those fancy clothes just to walk around the temple in the cold every day. I mean, they don't get visitors besides the occasional Dragonborn once or twice every century.

Spoiler

Nope. A guy named Klimmek brings food supplies up to the Greybeards every few weeks when the weather permits it.

Well they're Nords. I don't think cold bothers them too much. Plus they have to keep up appearances. How awkward would it be if someone visited, and they were seen walking around in footy pajamas or something?

I know, right? I mean, the Greybeards are aware of this little thing called agriculture. Y'know, the thing mankind had been doing after they stopped being roaming nomands eons ago?

Kind of hard to grow veggies when you're on top of a mountain.

Yeah, seems kinda pointless when you think about it.

Not likely. There really aren't that many as far as I'm aware. The ones that talk probably all have different voice actors. Christopher Plummer must only do that single character, as expensive as he is. They didn't have Sean Bean or Patrick Stewart to multiple characters for Oblivion.

Well they're Nords. I don't think cold bothers them too much. Plus they have to keep up appearances. How awkward would it be if someone visited, and they were seen walking around in footy pajamas or something?
But that's what I was saying. They barely ever get visitors to see them. Is it really worth dressing up that extravagantly every single day on the off chance that you'll get one person come to see you once every half millennia?

Oh, that makes sense then I guess.

Spoiler
This "Klimmek" must be super devoted... or super paid.

OMG! His mouth has opened! 8D

But I thought Greybeards were supposed to stay silent 24/7.
They stay silent most of the time to try and maintain their voice.

The Greybeards know thu'um. Anyone can learn that. An elf spoke to them in the First Pocket Guide (to learn about the province. No Thu'um). They get visitors aside from Dragonborn.

Is this a new video that the picture is from? I didn't see it in the recent "Making of" video. Can someone post a link to the video? (I assume it's an official video)

That was just one Greybeard, there could be more with Gandalf-ish beards.
Although I have to say, these robes are truly impressive, much better than OB + MWs.

I really hope we can get some without having to face them with there Th'um.
They would probably launch me off The Throat of The World.

I won't be attacking one, but I do wonder what happens if you do. They won't use Thu'um for violence, and the dialogue in the video suggests they are pacifists in general.
