For the first time ever I'm going to attempt to make a movie. The inspiration came to me with the hearing of a song on the radio and I'd been throwing the idea around in my head for a couple weeks now. It's a huge project for me that will likely take months and a lot of planning and money spending but I haven't been this excited about something for a long time, so it feels right.
This is my first major project of the sort and I'm going with a cliche love story, all of the characters will be played by people around my town. Hopefully we'll be filming by summer but knowing my luck, probably not. I'll at least have a trailer or promotional video at some point.
The reason filming takes so long is because I live in Canada so summers are very short, and I'm short on cash. Between paying for things like software and cameras, microphones, the like.. the movie is summer themed and so you can imagine a meter of snow wouldn't be of much use.
I'm very determined to make this work even if it doesn't turn out as great as I want it to be. But I see the trailer as a way to sort of hone my skills and learn the software enough to get a good product.
So without further ado.. my tacky love story plot!
It's just the bones of the movie that I've got worked out, because I haven't written down a screenplay as of yet. But the basic idea is about an under priveldged high school student. She's sort of trashy, she's misguided, is poor and is sort of disliked.
Mr so and so is either a new, youngish teacher or a student teacher that's coming in for first hand experience in the classroom ( haven't decided yet). His honest intentions are compromised when in nurturing her he find himself falling in love and blah blah blah, illegal, she feels the same way, obstacle obstacle the end.
I'm making it sound terrible, probably, but regardless. Any support, tips, anything, is welcome. I'm merely posting this for friends and people with experience alike. I'm excited about it and am pretty terrified of messing it up but I'm hopeful and, well if you can't tell... excited.
So yeah, thanks guys!
