Guessing where the plots are

Post » Thu Nov 15, 2012 2:44 pm

The trailer seems to include at least snippets of all three plots. So where are they?

The plot in Hjaalmarch is pretty easy to locate: southwest of Highgate Ruins, east-northeast of the abandoned shack. (This location sits right on top of a spawn spot for a Chaurus Reaper. Kill the bug to qualify for land ownership?)

I am less certain of the ones in the Pale and Falkreath.

The one in Falkreath would seem to be around lake Ilinalta, but I am having a hard time placing the mountain in the background. Maybe it is closer to the Twilight Sepulchral.

The one in the Pale seems like it might be located somewhat northeast of Loreius Farm. Someplace that is not 100% covered in snow, which leaves out most of the Pale.

Any better guesses?

As far as I'm concerned, you're 100% correct about the Hjaalmarch land plot. As for the other plots? Your guess is as good as mine.

I was sort of under the impression that all nine holds would have a plot of purchasable land. I hope I'm not wrong in thinking that. Hell, maybe Bethesda will surprise us with even more than that.

I'm pretty sure we can...0:20 in the trailer shows foliage of Falkreath and the mountain that holds Bleak Falls Barrow...this would put the plot south of the lady stone I bet, east of Half-Moon Mill. (crosses fingers)

your geographical knowledge is really good
I'm just hoping that the Falkreath housing area will be near the stream from lake Ilinalta leading to riverwood, it would be nice to be a stones throw away from the two :)

That was my first impression. But looking at the mountain in the trailer vs looking north towards Bleak Falls Barrow it seems they are not the same mountain. The spires on the right hand side don't match up.

Anyway, I am having fun just running around trying to guess where they will be. I actually stumbled across Treasure Map VI this way. I wonder what the story behind that might be? I guess they just left it up to the player's imagination. I also ran across a dead Dark Elf next to a stone cairn on the east side of lake Ilinalta. No note, no journal, just a dead body, a coin purse, a dagger, and a bunch of mountain flowers. Who knows what else I might run across?

If anyone is well equipped in knowledge of astronomy and trigonometry, I am sure one can use the crescent moon/planet at 0:15 to find the exact location of the Pale land plot :D

I have a feeling the Pale land plot will have a view of the Throat of the World. It could be on the side of a mountain as the other two plots seem to be closer to sea level.

OK, figured out where the Pale plot will be. At 1:16 you see the carriage driver. In the background you can see the path leading to Stonehill Bluff. So it will be west-southwest of Blizzard's Rest nornorwest of Loreius Farm.

Fantastic view of the valley below and from the tower you should be able to see Dragon's Reach.

OTOH, every time I FT there I get a dragon attack. I've now killed 2 Revered and 1 Legendary visiting this area. Its going to be tough on the livestock.

This. I don't like Falkreath, but Riverwood has a nicer and cozier feel for me. Would be nice to walk to town in the morning w/o it becoming midday or night.

The Pale plot, if I am right, is pretty close to the Tower of Mzark.
