Guide: Heavy Machine Gun

I cringe when I see teammates walk by this monstrosity

HMG damage = 120 up to 10 meters, 70 after that

This means its a ONE bullet kill to cloaked players at ANY range, and a one bullet kill to power mode players up to ~30 feet.

400 RPM means you can fire for a very long time, and you dont have to burst fire because the recoil is almost reset between each shot

This amazing weapon kills armored players in 2-3 bullets depending on distance, holds 100 bullets, is incredibly accurate when not moving, lures in players that are usually unprepared, and saves your primary ammo.

When you "sprint" with it, you dont have to worry about energy.

The speed you lose is well made up for sheer power and its really sad that 1 in 50 (estimate obv) people on my team even use it.

In objective game modes, you can draw attention away from the objective, which is nice, plus you can position yourself in spots where you cant be flanked and guard the CS/Intel

Sprint to this thing like its a rocket launcher in Halo, or a amazing care package in Black Ops idk what games you guys play lol, but yeah do it =]

-----------

Counters to the HMG

1) Easy grenade target, however armor helps here
2) A smart player will tag you, and everyone can then attempt to flank with cloak, keep your eyes peeled and get that one bullet kill on that sneaky ghost, try to keep your back at a wall or watch your teammates to predict enemy traffic movement
3) Large sniper target, armor does not help here, regardless of what the AI of your teammates say "its a sniper armor up!" Snipers ignore armor completely. To remedy this, stay out of long lines of sight and keep close/med distance. In example, wall street, do NOT stay in the small building the HMG is in, get out and find a different location.

-----------

Golden rule: Stand still and turn to locate targets that know your presence. You dont gain any good evasion while moving with it, and you can turn faster when you arent ads, if you dont do this, you are using the HMG incorrectly

Good luck <3

I get killed by HMG about 1 in 5 times I meet it. The remainder of the time they are almost instantaneously assassinated by me. I don't care if its a one-shot kill on a cloaker, its just awareness. Don't get in their line of sight then drop behind them - BAM! - game over. You move too slow with a HMG, it is pretty much always possible to do an assassination due to lack of motion.

This is true, but remember they have awareness as well. There is the factor of radar and footstep noise (unless you always use Covert).

I was never assassinated while using the HMG, and I had about 900 kills with it last reboot. The average player does not use it correctly, and thats why I wrote this guide =]

I just think you are way smarter then the players that use it, and therefore it isnt a problem.

There is also the factor of staying by teammates and keeping your back towards the edges of the map, so it solves that problem, ill add it to the guide

erm guys how do i prevent getting killed in power mode? cause its the only mode that has a k/d of below 1?

it doesn't take that little to kill? also does the hmg act as a small shield cause you seem to get hit less?

If your infront of a HMG don't stop and shoot sprint and slide to outmaneuver him then jump and cloak, then shoot.

I find that power jumping and circling usually does the trick against HMG users. Rather like the old "circle jump" from C1. Sprint>slide doesnt usually work as any bullet contact will stop you sprinting therby ruining your ability to activate the slide. Power leaping while turning in behind them is the best bet as it puts you way out of there LOS most times, and on top of that if they ARE shooting at you the leap will normally take you out of the crosshairs way faster.

Ive used this technique on several occasions to take on clumped groups of players. And on one occasion used it against 5 players clustered around the greenhouses on Skyline to great effect taking them all down with the minimum of fuss.

what happens if he has high sensitivity? armor enhance should let you keep sprinting while being shot at... at least at level 2 cause it takes away the movement penalty..

The worst thing about this gun...

If you tap the trigger as opposed to holding it down, you have NO recoil. I mean none, the game doesn't register it. I've seen people on Killcam where they fire this gun, and kill me across the map with one hit.

The far more worse part is that people are using programmable controllers to SINGLE shot at a majorly fast rate to have 100% accuracy with it, and even then they don't get affected by recoil as it is always classed as "the first shot". It's irritating... But fortunately, I don't encounter them much, and if I do I find a quick one-two with the melee will finish them rather quickly. However, the quick one-two will work with anyone.

Thats what I use, so you can keep sprinting.

it actually does that? I don't think it lets you keep sprinting when you get shot at but I only have level one so... does it let you sprint/slide when you get hit by bullets?

I don't ever remember being slowed down when shot, I usally would stop because I would run out of energy.

Getting hit while running cancels your sprint, Ive had it happen to me on many many occasions. And also Ive never been able to activate the slide while in armour mode and Ive tried to do it many times because I keep forgetting that it doesn't work. And thats with AE3, with its reduced movement penalty. Methinx someone is telling porkies.

Its because of this I started re-using my old C1 circle jumping technique in C2.

Yup power leap and 180 is likely my favorite "oh s**t" move in the game, when you come across something you aren't expecting. Power leap and 180, usually completely disorients whatever you came across, especially in Stealth you will quickly get out of the cross hairs and directly behind them, and you can start shooting on the way down and get the first bullet before they even register where you went. Or, if its a gaggle of them, throw some C4 and get sprinting the opposite direction. :)
