GUIDE: Recover your original TESV.exe file

Post » Mon May 21, 2012 12:03 am

Ahhh shoot, someone rezed this thread... oh well. I'll make an edit with my current recommendation.
Yup, you cannot share the exe, that amounts to piracy, the eula will specify that no part or parts of the software can be copied and shared, the exe in this case is actually the "game" the rest is game assets.

yeah, yeah, I know. This thread was "deleted" and I got a Warn for posting the exe. But a mod just removed the link and opened the thread back up.

I think I'd rather the thread be closed now anyway, since we have a better solution, using the new 4GB Loader.

Apologies for reviving an out of date thread. Mod, please lock this thread so another dummy like me doesn't revive it again.

doh :bolt:

You say it's not necessary to use the old EXE anymore..yet the new EXE crashes every 5-10 mins..even with the LAA patcher..?

Also, very curious why you defend Bethesda so much?

The same as NewYears1978...

Even with the new Skyrim 4gb patch, the new .exe crashes within a minute of playing and starts losing textures within 30 seconds of playing. And the new .exe lags a lot more.

I go back to the old TESV.exe and put LAA on and it works fine.

Definitely. I purposefully didn't use Steam and get the new update, but thought hey, I will have to eventually to patch, thought I'd give Beth benefit of the doubt on my system. Boy was I wrong.

I still feel this thread is relevant. Even the new 4GB Patch solution is not without issues for many people. I feel people should try it out if they'd like, to see if it resolves their issues, but should be aware that this solution also remains until an agreeable, working solution is presented by Bethesda.
