Gummy Bearing it

Post » Sat May 19, 2012 12:20 pm

First of all, I love Skyrim. It's a great game. But, just in case anyone would like to know ...

2. I don't like that, if you happen to prefer taking an indirect (off of the path) route to arrive at new location, you've got to gummy bear your way up the mountain like the Easter bunny.

3. The horses are a little glitchy and the manequins don't work. And the house in Solitude: not worth half as much as Breezehome or Honeyside, but for some reason it's about five times the price. There, the shelves and racks don't work AND you can't even place potions on the shelves, because when you come back home they are on the floor.

4. I WANNA CONJURE A SPRIGGAN!!! wHy cAn'T I cOnjUre a SPRIGGAN?!

5. So far, everything else has been awesome! Some of my favorites things: then menu is excellent compared to Oblivion, I love the dragons and the dragon tongue powers, the map is HUGE, and I especially love a place called Blackreach. I felt like I was in the backwoods of Pandora with the Na'vi. The war paint and scars are a nice touch as well. The orcs looked like Shreck in Oblivion (not that Shreck isn't cool, but they were just cartoony) and now they look pretty alive. And of course, the fighting is just great, through and through. I'm using two-handed weapons with my Nord character, as well as light armor, conjuration, restoration, sneak, pickpocket, enchanting and alchemy and I'm playing daily because it really is a fun video game to play in the winter months.

Well

1. I'd already said 'first of all.' That's my number 1. and

2. You know, when you try to cross over a mountain and there are a lot of areas where you just sort of hop repeatedly and quickly through them. Not just in the mountains but other places as well, you kind of bounce up and over things.
It's as if your toughest opponent in the landscape.

Well... yeah. That's what happens when you try to climb a mountain without using the path. That's never the only option for getting somewhere.

You could try going around and finding a path like a normal person.

Dragonborn don't use paths, Dragonborn use gummiberry juice and bounce up the mountains.

Gummy bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere..

Seriously though, going over is almost always faster than going around, so over I go.

If you do not like it, do not do it? Click into 1st person and go actual mountain climbing. The gummy bear animation (squat floating in air arms out) displays at times where your avatar is unable to "land" on a surface. There is no way to not do this other than not allow you to traverse mountains at all.
