Gunslinger, Commando, and Sniper perks not working

Tested from same position against a stationary NPC neither of the 3 perks gave any results to the any of the weapons they are suppose to benefit.

Dude, are you [censored] serious?

I just got it an hour ago.

Wait, wait, wait. How... how do you test a before and after like that? Can you give us the rundown of your experiment before we jump to conclusions?

Wouldn't shock me, all of those were broken on PC in Fallout 3 as well after one of the earlier patches. They never fixed them.

how do you do the test.

like check from a certain NPC at a certain distance before the perk and then compare after you get the perk.

if thats not how you did it could you explain your test?

Gunslinger and Commando work fine for me. It increases my accuracy in V.A.T.S. up to a certain distance just like the description says.

How far away are you when you initiate V.A.T.S.?

I saved a game before turning a quest in, there is a npc that doesn't move, i backed my character against a corner and took sample results.
Test it for yourself via console command.

player.addperk 00094ebb (gunslinger)
player.addperk 00099828 (commando)
player.addperk 00031db4 (sniper)

I'd do that, but I have a PS3.

Like others have said, from what distance did you do it? Could it be you have to go farther to activate the perk?

Tested w. unique guns & regular guns for all 3 perks, no results. These perks do not work for PC.

Gunslinger and Commando work fine for me

Im guessing your not using a PC. Otherwise your wrong.

As far as distance, this is how far i tested it from.

Damn, a bad bug, but was the shot taken at the devs necessary? This bug was present in Fallout 3 as well.

I just did some testing of my own, and it is bugged. ALTHOUGH sometimes it will work. Test it for long enough, and you will be in the right place or angle or something and it will kick in and you will see like a 10% increase. There is something very buggy though as everyone is saying it usually does not work. There is an even bigger problem with targeting the torso however, it is also buggy. My % hit to hit the torso is almost always the LOWEST of all the places, and I'm pretty sure it should be the highest. Every once in a while the torso will jump way up to what it feels like it should be. I'm also having a problem where my character seems to be shooting a little faster than normal almost jerky and I am not hitting the target as much as I should. Look, I get it... 95% means you will miss sometimes, I truly understand that (I feel it is inevitable someone will not read this whole post and feel obliged to point that out) but I've been tests and missed many shots in a row at 80%. Not just once, but over and over. Hitting 1/12 at 80%, it is safe to say it is not working as intended folks, don't kid yourself. I am not the only one who has experienced this. Most of the was with the Mysterious Magnum I don't know if it has a problem of its own or what. Anyways, suffice to say it is pretty frustrating this whole ordeal to put time into the game and developing your character, and at the end of the day you are just kind of like "Hm, I wonder if that even does anything?" There are not that many perks they should just work... simple... period.

The perks work for me. I'm standing in the starter town pointing at the head of a peaceful villager. I'm standing about 15-20 feet away. I didnt test it from any greater distance (yet).

Commando, Gunslinger, and Sniper all increase my chance to hit.

Makes me nervous though that you seemed to see no change.

VATS seems to be the other way around for me, I'm not a big user of it in this game so far so I haven't been taking any related perks but I once headshotted 3 geckos in a row with my sniper rifle and they each had a 20% chance to hit. This isn't an isolated incident either, I almost always hit people when it's in the 20-30% range but when it's 95% I miss a lot more than 5% of the time. I don't know what's going on here...

PC.

But it *is* a bit flaky. But only in that I swear a couple of times that Sniper was increasing TORSO percentage as well as Head.

I made a post few days ago about these 3 perks not working what so ever. Some people said it worked for them some people said it didn't. Well i found out why these perks work for some and why they don't work for others.
A character with a trait fast shot will make these 3 perks NOT work, fix this awful bug. A character with the trait Trigger Discipline ... I give up with further testing via console command. Gunslinger, commando, Sniper work on one of my characters, in which i've added all of those perks; added gunslinger, commando, and sniper 1 by 1, all of them gave results.

However on my other character. I get ZERO results from any of these 3 perks. Even i can't troubleshoot Bethesda's buggy games.. and that says a lot.

If memory serves those perks were fixed by official patches in Fallout 3, i remember testing them after patch came out. It would make no sense that they are broken again.

Fallout 3 didn't have fast shot.
Here is what im 100% certain w. just did more console command testing on stationary NPC to see aim % results w. the perks & traits.

When i have Fast shot on a character, it completely blocks any beneficial gains from sniper, gunslinger, & commando. When i remove fast shot as a trait completely then i can see gains from sniper, gunslinger, & commando.

Just tested it and Sniper works fine. Im on the PC. Its probably a conflict with Fast Shot if there is one.
