Had a molar pulled. Thank god for Vicodin

Post » Fri Jan 11, 2013 8:44 pm

So I had an abscessed molar and had to get it pulled today. The left side of my face is swollen and I'm eating mashed potatoes and Boost for a couple days all while popping Vicodin every four hours.

Anyone else have dental procedures?

I had a dental checkup today. There was lots of.. fluoride. No swelling, thankfully.

I've been in the process of getting a root canol + crown for a few weeks now. Still waiting on the final crown. My gums are quite sore.

Had one filling replaced, still need two more replaced. I have some old fillings.

I've had teeth pulled after receiving nothing more than a bit of local anesthetic delivered via a needle to the mouth. Laughing gas is for pussies.

The OP was the story of my life for a week after I had my wisdom teeth pulled. I looked like a squirrel with full pouches and I couldn't eat anything that was hard or solid.

Laughing gas actually doesn't do much for pain (it does help a bit indirectly). All it does is make you buzzed and relaxes your nerves.

I have all four wisdom teeth being yanked out later this month. Three have broken through and are being pulled normally, but one is impacted and very close to a nerve. A bit nervous about that last one.

I have probably 3 getting pulled this month as well, one is impacted and sore, another is impacted and breaking apart and very sore, and the last one isn't impacted but has got a cavity in it.

The fourth one was lucky enough to come through right after I had the tooth in front of it pulled, so it got promoted, and will be allowed to keep it's job.

I got mine removed a few years back. Was nervous as hell. I had it done right before thanksgiving (had no choice) so missed out on many delicious foods and was stuck with basically mashed potatoes :(

One of my friends just had his wisdom teeth pulled. He fell asleep when he got home only to wake up to blood all over his pillows and his blankets. I had mine pulled a few years back and I didn't remember bleeding that bad.
