Hadvar Won't Stop Following Me

Post » Fri May 25, 2012 6:25 am

I finished the Imperial quest and when I go to Whiterun, Hadvar is there. I can't kill him, essential NPC and talking to him won't do anything. Characters won't talk to me becvause he's following me. What can I do?

I'm on a 360 so I cannot use console commands and this is the second time this has happened. The first time, I reverted to another save. I thought I went far enough back, but now, 40 hours later, I completed the quest again and he still came back. Please let me know what I should do.

If he can't be killed, take him to dungeons and stuff with you, use him as a tank.

It's a bug I've heard. Try sneaking away from him or invisibilty to get away and fast travel elsewhere. Save first of course, in case it doesn't work.

Thanks, but my player is a tank himself. Even if he wasn't, I won't be able to do other quests since other NPCs won't talk to me while he's there.

I'll try this and see what happens. Stuck for now.

The way of fixing this goes as follow :
Savegame
Goto whiterun
Pickpocket from one of the guard and get caught!
Sit in jail waiting your time
Get out and be freed!

Thanks for your help, however, for some reason, after I reloaded my save, Hadvar sheathed his sword, said something, and walked away. Before, I had tried everything and he wouldn't go, but randomly, right after the save loaded he left!

Yeah he did the same crap to me. He would only follow me if I was in white run so I quit going to whiterun for a few in-game days / weeks (too hard to tell lol). Eventually I went back to whiterun and he was gone.

It happened to me aswell. He stopped once i handed the redguard chick over to the assassins in whiterun. Try that. Or, you could try to take him to riverwood since that is where he is meant to go
