Haemar's Shame Totems of Hircine glitch...

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 7:40 pm

M'kay, so I did the "A Daedra's Best Friend" quest, and now I must return to Haemar's Shame for a Totem of Hircine. Every attempt to enter causes my system to crash. I figure this topic was in here somewhere, but I didn't feel like looking for it and figured it may bring to light any ways around this if I were to repost. It is really annoying :swear: , I can't finish the quest or get rid of Aela. Has anyone figured anything out?

I'm having the same problem. Have tried deleting save files and sleeping for a week in game but didn't help.

Good to see I'm not alone here. Anyone else have any insight? Please? I'm desperate, this glitch pisses me off.

Hi,

I have the same problem too. I was doing a lot of other quests in the meantime - hoping that I can go into Haemar's Shame after a while, but there is always this crash!
I could play an old save, but this is now over 20 played hours ago ... :(

I wonder if this will be fixed in the upcoming patch??

Thx if anyone has a solution for this problem!
And sry for my bad english! ;)

There is nothing wrong with your save its a game engine problem that will get a lot worse . It will start out small places like that . Then larges places like Blue Palace. dragons reach will also become inaccessable. Then even walking around that outside world will become a freezefest. I am even having problems when I can enter an interior that most of the objects including some walls will not be there , just an infinite void of blue.

To Driana: I am big time hoping it is fixed in the next patch. Hopefully some of the more major problems will be addressed. And your english is totally fine by the way, don't worry about it!
To Avinar: While I certainly hope that is not the case, I have noticed the infinite blue (it was more aqua, but I think we are talking about the same thing) when I've entered some rooms, but I figured it was a separate problem. I haven't had any other trouble with inaccessability, though.

Hi, me again. I was not exactly right. It's not Haemar's Shame where my game freezes, it's Sunderstone Gorge.
LIttle bit difficult to find the english names. ;)

I decided now to play an old save - doing over 20 played hours again. I don't want to wait for the patch, especially we don't know if this problem is gonna be fixed. :/

I have a problem with Haemar's Shame too. I completed the Daedra's best friend quest which culminated at Haemar's shame. I now have the Family Heirloom quest which requires me to get an axe from the same location. I have no problem entering the cave, but when I attempt to enter the Shame section the game crashes during the loading sequence.

This has effectively put an end to all the Companion radiant quests and particularly any opportunity of curing lycanthropy, which I wanted to do. To compound this, I've got 3 witches heads with a combined weight of 12 rolling around in my inventory which I can't get rid of.

Oh fine!
I'm very curious if "my" bug with Sunderstone Gorge will also be fixed ...
But by now it doesn't make any difference to me - I decided to restart at an old save ... playing the last 20 hours again.
Yeah! Back from level 26 to level 21.

Didn't know there was a problem with this quest, I suppose it's a good thing I've only gotten as far as talking to the dog, who is now waitnig outside the dungeon for me to show up while I'm doing other stuff. Now I know to wait until the pacth to get that quest going.

I estimate the patch will be out in maybe two weeks, if I read the patchlog notes right.

Hey I also have this problem , going into broken fang cave crashes the game and Aela has made the game unplayable. Where did you see that it said 1.4 will fix it? I couldn't find it.

My game crashes when I enter Broken fang cave though, I wonder if it will still fix it.
