Hair cuts.

So, I want to try something new with my hair. I've had medium length hair for as long as I can remember and just recently I've started to get major cowlicks in my bangs (to the point where one side is fully exposing my forehead). I've always wanted to buzz it but I feel like my head is too big, or my forehead is too tall.

The question I'm getting to is, how do you know if a buzz would look good on you? Do you need a certain jaw shape and head size/shape?

http://i.imgur.com/yNxrD.jpg - cowlicks aren't as curled at the moment. Also, sorry for the quality, my camera is broken so I had to resort to my laptops horrible built in webcam.

I wouldn't, your face is too youthful and round looking, I don't think it would look right.

Ahh, okay, thank you. I'm going to start exercising regularly, so my face should get more gaunt looking. I'll try then.

you don't look like malcath at all...any way i shave my head every six months or so, just got my hair cut to day actually...maybe i'm not the right person to ask, you could just do it anyway...i mean it does grow back, and it would probably look about the same in three months anyways

Just shave it and find out. It grows back and you can wear a hat if you hate it that much.

I let my hair grow until it gets too hot, which really isn't much hair at all when you are used to it shaved, then I shave it myself. Saves money and looks good.

edit: Looks good enough, I guess is what I'm getting at. Plus there's no fuss or hat head or bed head with a buzzed head.

Why not just sport a shorter haircut?

Hmmm, I think you should just cut it shorter. Buzzed wouldn't suit you.

Just keep making it progressively shorter with each haircut so there's less of a shock. I've gotten a buzz cut before, it feels and looks weird for the first few days, but that's only because you're not used to it. Especially when going directly from medium-long hair like I did.

You don't you just have to try. I also just did it, well it wasn't exactly a buzz cut but it was super short. I just thought I'd try it and it worked out pretty well. However I wouldn't suggest getting a buzzcut I would rather just cut it short but keep some kind of shape in it so it doesn't look like an ordinary buzz cut. I'm not a hairdresser but judging by your face I would suggest keeping the sides short and the top a little longer, this kind of optically stretches your face which might look good on you.

I got a Mohawk a couple of months ago, I loved it, but my mum HATED it! I was working out in Greece and it worked out there. Normal society, not so much.

I'm just going to echo what other people have said. I get tired of my hair all the time but getting it cut short seems to be enough of a change to satisfy me without having it all shaved off. My face, like yours doesn't seem to suit really short hair. So to you I suggest you just get it short, and see what you think.

Also, that is how I've wanted my hair for ages, but I can never get it right in the barbers. Guess you need a professional stylist to get it that good. :(

Greece doesn't count as normal society? lol
But I wish I had the balls to rock a mohawk. I wanted to last time I cut my hair but I just ended up getting it buzzed lol.

It's not photoshopped and no Greece doesn't really count ha ha. I worked for a holiday company out there, we did some pretty crazy stuff and it looks cool when you're tanned and rocking shorts and t shirts all day

Back in cold England I just looked a like a hippy. My friend just did it for me with my beard trimmer. Took about 20 minutes and he even added in the lighting bolt graphic, I loved it.

My hairstyle is a simple clean cut hairstyle with a part on the right. (Imagine my avatar, but a little bit further right)

Its pretty easy actually I've had that haircut before the thing is it really depends on your type of hair you have and what products you use. I use http://www.americancrew.com/ hairproducts they work really well. Usually just go for the classic forming cream one. I also used the citrus mint but I like the classic's smell better. They are expensive but you don't need to use much. I do my hair every single day and one small jar lasts for like 3/4 months. Also you need to find yourself a good hairdresser. I pay like 40 to 50 dollars on one cut which is fairly expensive here but it's always very well cut.

Have to be careful though when it comes to hairproducts, the 90's gel usually doesn't look so good and I hate L'Oreal products, because they are either too strong or too weak. Some wax that is really strong can really damage your hair. I used this nasty brown forming cream by l'oreal once in the past and it took me like 3 washes before it was completely gone. The American crew products are strong enough and can be removed with water only. Also strong wax makes you pull out your hair slowly which in the end makes you go bald lol...

You could always do less than a buzzcut, and be bald. Then you don't have to use shampoo.

I have really fine hair, but lots of it - the worst type for styling and moulding. My hair also seems to grow outwards instead of forwards on my right side. I've got it to look pretty similar, but without the highlighs with a simple £11 barber cut and some l'oreal citrus wax. To get it any better will take a lot more money - unfortunately :(

I've had my hear buzz cut for almost five years, it's very comfortable.
Then again, I guess I've never really wondered if I look stupid with it... I think I look better than I did before, at least.

You look just fine - quit worrying and never let someone else decide your hairstyle.
Don't try to force your hair to look any different then it grows.
There are two laws about hair - One:let it grow the way it wants to - it'll fit your head better and Two: keep it out of you eyes

Hey my avatar is me so check my hairstyle
