Happy 4th of July

Post » Wed Jul 04, 2012 8:59 pm

Are you sure the people you mention care about their country? Seems to me that they only care about the flashing lights, having bbqs and getting totally hammered.

Okay, good point. Usually though while being immersed in bright lights, having BBQs and getting hammered, they will proclaim how much they love their country and how awesome it is. I guess I mistook that for true patriotism. Thanks for spotting that.

You sound American. I have a feeling you are from Indiana trying to cause an uproar.
You make it sound like Great Britain is much better..
But isn't it?

Happy Independence Day, everyone.

Hopefully this holiday should be able to be celebrated for many more years to come.

But isn't it?

The US has its share of problems, but so does every other nation on earth. Due to it's size, visibility, and influence I believe America's problems and issues get magnified and examined to a greater extent in ways that most other nations and governments don't. I personally enjoy being a citizen of the United States and wouldn't care to be anywhere else right now, but I know people will have different opinions about that.

Happy 4th of July holiday to all the Americans. Stay safe and enjoy time with friends and family!

With great power comes great responsibility. Likewise with freedom, the more freedom, the greater the moral imperative. Since the U.S. is, or was, the #1 country in the world in terms of power and freedom, they have a greater responsibility than other countries.

Happy fourth to my fellow Americans. :celebrate:

Being patriotic and all. I've always found it hilarious that to celebrate their Independence, Americans choose mild explosives.

I think the Simpsons said it best:

"Celebrate the independence of your nation by blowing up a small part of it!"

Be sure and have a good one, everybody! I plan to eat myself into a coma, or get blackout drunk.

Haven't decided yet.

drinking vodka and watching fireworks
Go back to the USSR you commie bastard we don't tolerate yer' kind here in 'merica on our day of independence! :P

Happy 4th of July, hooray for the USA and all that patriotic jazz
Should be a good fourth, they've always been good holidays for me and one of the few times when I'm not forced to see a bunch of hipsters show off their trendy Anti-USA rhetoric
I'm no fan of the US government, but I still love my country and what it stands for all the same and wouldn't want to live anywhere else at this point.
