Happy Holidays thread

Post » Sat Dec 24, 2016 12:13 pm

Regardless of how you choose to enjoy (or avoid) the traditional holidays, and no matter which faith or festivities you might follow; Happy Winter Holidays to us all.

It's the time of year that I think everyone stops to appreciate family, friends and other important things that inspire us.

Here's hoping we all have a safe and relaxing season, and that everyone finds something hopeful for the new year.

What type of big (or small) plans do you have planned?

and because, why not...

Saturday my father and I are going to drive up North to Kansas to visit my sister for probably our first family Christmas we've had in a long time.

Merry. Christmas, all of my fellow Bethesda nut cases! I'm on vacation from work, and have spent a good 6 hours a day all week playing Skyrim. Oh yeah......

And just got home from seeing Rogue One and Assassins Creed. Yes sir! :D

Without anyone else knowing - praying.

Mostly, Xmas day. 'tis a relaxing day, however, I am going to visit my aunt. Boxing Day, now that is a reflection day for Christmas Day!

Happy Festivus, fellow Bethesda forum members! Shall we start with the airing of grievances?

I've got a lot of problems with you people! Now, you're gonna hear about it.

Bring an umbrella, they're predicting thunderstorms and potentially record setting rainfall (for this time of year).

Sooo..... merry Christmas to all, and to all a good... what-have-you. :wavey:

I am going to sit in my pyjamas, play video games (finish the MQ of Elder Scrolls Online, then make more progress in Dishonored 2) and stuff my face.
Heaven.

I've never heard of a Christmas lasagna.

This christmas will be the first one i ever spend away from family and in a foreign country. I really miss the warm cozy Christmas feeling i get at home. But on a brighter note, i just spent a week in Japan on holiday, and may go to Taiwan for new years.

We have lots of family coming to stay at our house for the weekend. I'm sure it will be lovely*. I've taken next week off of work to use the PTO I'll otherwise lose, so I'll be able to get non-work-related work done around my house. That will free up my nights to do the work-related work that will inevitably come my way as a result of my team not having the week off. I love taking time off!

I'm just being negative. I'm sure it will be very nice. :bonk:

* - in comparison to having a swarm of angry bees coming to stay at our house for the weekend.

I think you might be confusing Christmas with the Pastafarian winter holidays.

I think I'll take the bees over family, thanks. We're just staying in and hiding from the world this Christmas. Admittedly with a large enough supply of food that it'll probably be the end of January before we emerge. And we won't be able to emerge because we'll be too fat to fit through the front door.

New grievance to air, and it is in regards to Pluto: all the holiday threads are merged when Festivus deserves its own thread! :P

Happy holidays to everyone! This Christmas I will be chilling at home. Usually go visit relatives around this time but I did that at Thanksgiving this year, so I won't be able to go traveling this holiday break. Got some stuff to work on during the Christmas break, but there will still be plenty of time to hang out with some friends and make significant progress on some video games. Got Quake II, Planescape: Torment, and Elder Scrolls Online on the priority list, but I hope to get some others in there like The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard.

Heh, not traditional, but my sister and I did just decide that we're going to have lasagna on Christmas Day. :P We just need to get a few things tomorrow morning before the grocery stores close.
