It is hard to find guns on the ground!

Crytek,

Do you think you all can make the guns have an outer edge glow like they have it in the campaign or we can locate them through our visors. When you run out of ammo, it takes forever to locate them because they do not always drop near the body.

Dude! You're so right...

I almost always die once I run out of ammo. Sometimes I can spend between 10-20 seconds trying to find it and then hovering it only trying to get the correct angle to pick it up lol

My brother was watching me and was like "f**king hell" couldn't they have made it easier.

Make a poll seeing if anyone has the same problem or not. I also almost never am able to pick up ammo neither.

You do realise that weapons only drop from dead players right? I don't think they spawn on the ground readily for you to pick them up unless they are mounted machine guns or something; just continue killing people the old fashioned way when you die... By fisting them.

Well you get plenty of ammo in the game as standard. Half a magazine is a kill and you can take extended mags for bigger magazines to increase it to 2-3 kills per magazine. If you cant kill someone in half a mag then you REALLY need to improve your aim rather than worrying about ammo drops from dead enemies.

Haha, damn you, made me choke on my morning cereal >:]

Anyways, yeah I believe they are referring to the pickup of guns that are dropped by dead people. They are quite difficult to find, and often when you kill someone their body is propulsed (thrown) and their gun is too, scattering it out and away from their body.

As far as ammo pick-up, I believe it works the same as CoD by what I've found - that is, they have to have the same loadout as you to pick up their ammo (that is, you can't just get Feline ammo by running over another Feline, it has to have the same set-up - as in if you have Ex. Mags and Silencer, the gun on the ground has to have Ex. Mags and Silencer as well to pick up the ammo - I could be wrong in this, but I know I hardly ever run over ammo, and with the number of assassinations I get I should be auto-picking ammo every kill with someone who has a Feline, and it doesn't seem to be the case)

If someone tests this, correct me if I'm wrong. I know in CoD you had to have the same camo pattern too to be able to grab the ammo. I don't think that's the case here, but again I could be wrong.

FYI - I have the highest accuracy on my friend's list, I use a Feline, rarely am I able to get 2 kills a mag, usually reload after each one, and I use Ex. Mags. If you are able to get more, please inform me how, because all my stats would point to that being incorrect, unless you are referring to another gun.

Feline is the exception, due to its high spread rate and rate of fire. Its on average 1.5-2 kills per extended mag. Scar/Scarab/Grendel/K-volt etc can easily kill in half a mag without extension. Remember that upper body shots and headshots do more damage, so thats where your rounds should be aimed for every time to maximise your firepower and ammo count.

I have no idea why Crytek would do this, if I have a Feline with Red Dot with silencer and then run over the same but without the Reboot then why would it stop me from picking up its bullets? The bullets are physically the same, they wouldnt have to change the bullet composition to cater for the Red Dot. Makes no sense whatsoever.

No idea man. I always thought the same thing when it happened on CoD. It was even stricter there since camo patterns had to match too. As far as I know it was to discourage weapon pickup randomly since they had the Scavenger perk, *supposedly* so then you could still get the ammo off your dead body (or if you were smart with a bunch of teammates, a bunch of dead teammates as well).

Again, I could be wrong, just seems to be what I'm noticing though.

Hey goose, not sure here but can you only pickup ammo/weapons from your teammates? I swore I could not pick up an enemies weapon even tho I was staring at it.

Anyway, see ya on tonight!

I for one have the same problem and often have to die just to get my ammo resupplied.Maybe a lil addon like the screen showin something to the effect of what type of weapon is lying about to help it be easier to spot so that you can resupply some ammo. Nice idea arthur

Not only are they hard to see most of the time you have to moon walk back & forth to pick it up, its annoying. I've died plenty of times trying to pick guns up. I Hope they tweak it

They should do the battlefield thing that the guns shimmers when on the ground. You could easily find the guns in BC2 though they were a whole kit not just a gun.

In order to be able to pick up a gun you need to be standing in the correct longitude and latitude geographical position.

Quick tip for peeps having trouble picking up weapons, simply hold X while scouting before you go looking for a weapon specifically. You will pick up the first weapon you come across instantly. If your out of ammo this is exactly what you need. It doesnt matter what you pickup, as long as it has ammo.

That's not the problem for me. It is seeing them on the ground. I hate doing an Easter egg hunt during a battle. All I am asking is that they make them glow or we can locate them like they have it in the campaign. It should be part of Visor Enhance just like marking the enemy.

Yes I do realise what you mean, but im suggesting how to work around it for the moment. With X held in, the first instant you walk over a weapon you pick it up.

They should also combine Threat Tracer with Visor Enhance to make it useful. Threat Tracer is barely used as it is and Visor Enhance is useless at it's higher upgrades as no-one uses Nano-Vision and Flashbangs.

If they made it like how it is in the campaign it would be awesome.
