Is Harkon the strongest NPC in the game?

Master difficulty the fight with him, lasted quite a while like.... I've never been in one that lasted that long, but then again, I've not met a Legendary Dragon yet!

I think the only reason he lasts long is the annoying movement. I play on Master and he didn't do much.

I wouldn't say "strongest", its just he constantly heals with his drain attack, constantly scores free hits on Serana, thus healing him more, and heals inside that red bubble, so it drags the fight out much longer.

The strongest NPC would easily have to go to Vrythur though, that guy did insane damage and had a huge amount of life. Without cheating and using Fus-Roh-Dah and instantly killing him, he was really freakin difficult and killed me like 10 times.

I play on Expert.

I also believe Vyrthur was stronger than Harkon. Sure Harkon's fight is tedious but he doesn't deal insane amounts of damage and he's very predictable. Vyrthur can drain your health very quickly. Seems to depend on the level for me though, I found him to be much stronger on higher levels. I don't mean difficulty level, I mean he seemed a lot stronger against my lv 50 character than he was against my lv 20.

I thought he was pretty easy... both on my archer and conjurer. Never gone toe to toe with him, so that may be true.

Not strength wise, but I liked the boss type battles with him, and even the snow elf guy. Skyrim needs more like those.

Yeah I get what you're saying, should'a specified I meant for like how much he can take.... I used sunhallowed arrows too, but the fight must've lasted a good 10min, maybe more....
TBH Vyurthur really didn't last too long for me, he dealt more damage, but I slapped him about rather easily.... Thinking of the NPC that dealt the most damage to me though, was the guy who owned the Gaulder Amulet I think it was?
The one with 3 sons....

Does Harkhon 'cheats' in the same way Orchendor does or other top bosses who have some abilities not obtainable by players?

I agree. The guy throws everything at you, Falmer, Frost Atronachs, even the bloody building  !! I play on Adept and he just murdered me so I had to drop down to Apprentice for the sake of my sanity  !! So kudos for doing him on Expert  !!!

I did him on Master. Epic fight, died twice. Having double summon spells really helps. I kind of nerfed myself to drag it out. I could have just hung back behind covered and spammed Dremora Lords

Vrythur is like a tank on expert. I was going to FUS-RO-DAH him but I wanted that sweet armor, and I put myself at a,disadvantage using chillrend(except for the paralyze) the frost did nothing to him I ended up dual wielding and using two elven swords( exquisite) and elemental fury to kill him.

i found the snow elf battle harder, harkon took as long due to him teleporting everywhere, then becomming invicible for a few seconds, the falmer just seemed to rip it out of me

I had to use everything I had lol

Dragonskin, Resist Magic potions, Resist Frost potions, Elixir of Health, Paralyzed my weapon, Potion of the Berserker, about 6 Ultimate Healing potions, and I used the Storm Call shout

I tried killing him as a Werewolf and got pretty far, but then he shot an Ice Spear at my head and my poor little furry mut ragdolled across the temple and died haha xD

Vrythur just wasn't difficult for me on master....
Like I said the guy with the 3 sons and the amulet was my hardest battle on this game.
Vrythur went down rather quickly, Dragon Bone Daggers, elemental fury, and maybe two potions was all it took for me.... I'm at level 45 as well, if that makes a difference to his difficulty?

Neither were difficult for my warrior but he's high level and has some killer gear. I enjoyed both fights though and agree there should be more like them in the game. I get tired of the same type of combat all the time. At least those two have special powers that make it interesting. I would imagine both to be insanely difficult on a low health, low armor, character like a pure mage unless they have high sneak and invisibility. Haven't tried my mage yet so no idea.

Legionaries one hit you on master? Dude, Legendary dragons dont even one hit you on master. Anywho, Werewolf makes quick work of Harkon. He was a fun bossfight too. Outside of that area, though, I doubt he would be able to do all that healing crap that he does, so its kinda hard to judge unless we know how tough he is away from the healing altar, which I'm guessing isn't any stronger than a dragon priest.

I knocked him off the tower with one hit from my werewolf. He didnt stand a chance.

He is leveled. At lower levels, my Dremora Lords can kill him in one hit. At higher level, it takes awhile.

The vyrthur was definetly stronger. Alduin gave me more of the chalege then Harkon thought. All Harkon can do is his hit and run tactics.

I see.

No you nor Jusey1 don't, unfortunately.

When Terra Nova mentioned "Hell, I'm level87(uncapper)" he or she was indicating that they use a PC mod to uncap the levels in Skyrim.

Most PC players wouldn't resort to setting their level past the cap point because it can be easily bypassed, as well, it involves the console.
Which to some, like me, find to be metagaming, immersion breaking or even cheating. Well, unless one is using it to check on certain mods.
