TES dwaeves are different than of fantasy series so you would not recognise them as dwarves, also lore says they are extinct.

Dwarves in TES are called Dwemer, there was one in Morrowind. I think they're all extinct now.

Because not every work that's in the fantasy genre has to have dwarves, even if most do because most writers are not very creative. That, and what everyone else said.

because racial-wise Beth enforced a 'minimum clearance' criterion to be valid, and dwarves were too short.

TES Dwarves are average sized (at least their ghosts are)

Dwemer are not even Dwarves as we think of them. They're elves of normal height. They just got that name from giants. TBH I'm glad the Elder Scrolls breaks some of this generic fantasy.

Uh-uh.... They are elves and no shorter than a man... People believe that a giant saw them and saw them as short and thats why they are reffered to as dawrves... they are elves though...

They chose to leave them out to make a unique fantasy world. Have you noticed that TES is one of the few worlds that doesn't follow the stencil Tolkein 'Elves are tall with pointy ears and live in trees, Dwarves are short with beards and live underground, men are normal but greedy and filled with flaws'?

Elves, or mer in TES, have many variants, and Dwarves were mer (Dwemer). They had beards but were no shorter than Bosmer, and weren't brute axe madmen but technologically advanced. So much so that they learned how to attain divine powers and were cursed with death.

I believe its called a Seagull post. Seagull comes soaring in out of nowhere, squawking unintelligibly, poops on everything. Everyone starts talking about it but the seagull has long since flown away and likely will never return.
