Did a spellshield, got her to level 50. Shield bash is your impact perk. Works totally great actually.

Yep my assasin is a spellshield. Bloody good class to go when you use conjurations. Not so good with destruction.

Mine was an altmer in full elven armor with elven shield, and she owned with destruction.

I prefer fireball over the higher level fire spells, reasonable cost and little need for aim.

Last night I made a character who will do that. She will use a shield and mainly Alteration and Illusion, and will only cause damage by shield bashing.

Shield and spell is very viable and works wonders with destruction, illusion, and conjuration. It's a unique and a fun build to play.

<- DB gear, Elven Shield, bound weapons, dremora backup on master. Desrto doesnt really cut it on master, unless you go the whole zero casting gear route.

This sounds like a fun build. Might start trying it with my Mage character
