Has anyone fixed Shahvee?

She's that argonian on the Windhelm docks who is always so cheerful. There is a dialog option to ask her "You people have bad luck?" but this option NEVER appears for me. Is there any way to fix this character?

Check your misc quests for and fetch quests for other NPC's. Such as Amren's sword and finsh them first.

I completed Amren's Sword quest a while ago and there are no current fetch quests at the moment except for The White Phial.

Anyone have any ideas why her trigger topic doesn't show up?

Wait awhile for some of the dungeons you've cleared to respawn. I think the game chooses the dungeon before she gives the quest and if it's already cleared out, it can't start(I had the same issue happen once and when she finally gave the quest it was at a location I'd already cleared out before). Wait a couple of days over in solitude or something then try again.(I don't know how long it'd take for all dungeons to respawn)

It's 30 in-game days... and though I'll consider it I've already had a few Radiant quests repeat locations. In some cases the dungeon was cleared just the previous in-game day before and everything on the level of importance was reset (not the whole dungeon though)... but in other quests the object of importance is placed in an otherwise empty dungeon.

What I'm trying to find is if there is a way to force Shahvee to give the quest.

I've never had that before, not sure why it wouldn't show.

Snooping in the files with the Creation Kit yielded... well, nothing helpful.

There is a console command AddTopic that I tried using. Doesn't work.

The topic in question is Favor204GetFavorTopic, but the topic for Amren has a different editor ID than the topic of Shahvee.

What I don't get is, I didn't even start Amren's quest before trying Shahvee's quest - she didn't have the topic then. I started and finished Amren's quest and still nothing from Shahvee.

However, for quest Favor205 - I completed THREE of those.

And I've already had two radiant quests pull from the same group of dungeons - Killed a bandit leader in Uttering Hills and retrieved Queen Freydis' sword in Cronvangr Cave. If that were the issue, the latter quest wouldn't have triggered.

I tried the waiting thirty days trick... first paused Imps Complex Needs and waited for 24 hours a total of 30 times in Solitude. Right back to Windhelm and Shahvee has the dialogue choice to start the quest!

It might have been because of a small hack I made with the Creation kit.

I removed all of the conditions for the conversation to appear. I probably should've kept the one condition that checked if the NPC's name is Shahvee.... since now everyone in the whole game has the dialogue choice. Of course for their race and gender it's generally unvoiced (but it'd be funny if I somehow got Ulfric Stormcloak to yearn about Black Marsh in a gruff female Argonian voice) and doesn't initialized the quest, and I'm not releasing this hack because I'm a new player at modding and barely know what I'm doing as it is. But it's neat to see how a small tweak affects the whole game world.

Shahvee has been one of my biggest problems in the game but it may boil down to this: you have to do her quest before Amren's. Period. In my current playthrough, I attended to all the quests that get glitched for me before doing anything else - Shahvee's being among them, and she had her "your people have bad luck" line right off the bat. Once I finished her quest, I was able to get Amren's without a hitch. In all my previous playthroughs I did Amren first ('cuz he's in Whiterun, where I end up first) and I never got Shahvee, even though I'd finished Amren's well before getting to her. So, for me at least, that was the solution. Previously I had been exploring all sorts of console commands and wasting tons of time trying to trigger the quest to no avail (see this thread: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1320441-is-shahvee-glitched/page__p__20663632__hl__shahvee__fromsearch__1#entry20663632)

I did run into the issue with Shahvee once again on the latest character.

After several ingame months, she suddenly offered her quest to me - turns out that she wanted me to head to Stony Creek Cave, a place where I had been sent by 2 other guys already (kill the bandit leader for Annekke, and retrieve Roggi's Shield... or something like that.)

So, apparently, Shahvee needed this dungeon to repopulate before she would give me her quest.

As a response to the information in the posting above: this is not correct. I had done Amren's quest in the months before, while hating Shahvee for being apparently bugged out. Having finished his quest before Shahvee's, did not block her quest for me at all.

Now I need to know why the innkeeper's son in Solitude doesn't offer me his delivery quest. :wallbash:

But that's not true. In time, every quest will unlock. It was 60+ hours in one of my games before I could get Ysolda's mammoth tusk quest to show up in her dialogue. Just keep playing the game, clearing out your quest journal and stopping back occasionally, and I guarantee you that the quest will show up sooner or later. I've gotten a virtual 100% completion on five or six saves now, so I have plenty of experience.

Much to my chagrin, on my most recent playthrough, I was able to trigger all (yes, that's right, all) the radiant quests. So maybe it was never a matter of the game being broken, but rather the player (me, for example) not being patient. Although I must confess I made a mod reducing the respawn time to 12 hours to get through it all. The 10-30 days things was just too disruptive. Once I'd taken care of all the radiant crap, I removed the mod.
