Like, legitimately? Not by looting it off a dead body or by killing a Veteran NCR Ranger, but by joining them?

You would think it would be possible given all that you do for the NCR and all the Legion you can kill.

Well theres ways to kill them with out getting in trouble for in so i dont know if you mean like that

You can use the with the anti material rifle and kill one and that won't get you in trouble
by using vats on one with inceneray rounds equiped

or

Iv heard you can push on off a cliff
I tried this and it was really hard but if you keep talking to them while you push its alot easier so good luck if you try this

I have! ok so here is how i got it. i pissed off the NCR something mighty. they started coming to me and saying i had x amount of days to be nicer to the NCR before they would come after me. well they found me on day 3. 3 ppl: a ranger, a power armor trooper, and a veteran ranger were standing there and i just kinda tossed a holy hand grenade into the group. i also got an anti matter rifle. which i luv. so far i have only seen these guys by pissing em off so if you go with legion, you get fancy armor

Needs to be a "Get into Ranger/NCR mod." That'll give you the ability to be looked up to more or something, and given armor based on how many enemies you kill for the NCR.

Was anti-materiel thing fixed in the recent 360 patch?

i haven't even run into a veteran ranger yet =(

I haven't seen a hardcoe ranger yet but I got a transmitter that can summon support and I could have them die to a horde of deathclaws.

They start spawning further into the story, I believe, you'll hear NPCs talking about how the NCR is bringing in elite units.

Edited: I misread, I'm not sure if you can obtain it any other way than from dead ones.

what do you mean? what was wrong with it? I know that the last time i used it, a guy with the same name as mine got blown 50 feet into a wall for being a "demon clone!"

It just seems that aiming at a guy in vats with incendiary, but not firing, and him still dying is a glitch. I'm just curious if it still works, as I'm lvl 23 and searching for some rangers to yoink their armor.

That sounds pretty cool. i will have to check that out tomorrow. i have a good 30 incendiary rounds.

one way to get it that is cheap but easy is to go to golf camp, and wait in front of the door to the the resort. When they come out, and you have one isolated you pop on a legion outfit, and let your companions kill the ranger. then before the people in the tents reach you, change your uniform again. you dont lose rep or get a kill or have companions care.

Are you talking about the black armor (like the one on the cover of the game)? That is my number one item that I am looking for.

Just confirmed that the anti-materiel rifle glitch to kill the ranger with no negative karma was indeed patched with today's patch. You will need to clear your system cache in order to pull that off.

Side with the legion and when you do the mission to assasinate kimball go to the AA gun controls outside the damn and cut the wires( repair 50 needed). This will cause the AA gun to explode killing Kimball and the vet rangers arund him who will be free to loot with no down side.
