Has anyone tried Dishonoured on a 40inch HD TV

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:28 am

I have my games PC connected to a Sony 40 inch HD TV
Some games I have run are full screen but others are monitor size.
I'm running a Radeon 5300 HD graphics card on win7.

My pre-ordered Dishonoured DVD is due in the mail on Friday so any thoughts would help

thanks

Sorry, but what exactly do you mean by "full screen" and "monitor size"?

From what I've been able to play before I had my crash bug I can honestly tell you it looks awesome on a 47in HDTv.

By "Full screen" I mean 40 inch 16:9 Full HD where the picture shows on the entire screen

By "monitor" size I mean the 40 inch screen show a reduced size window about the same as a 17 inch 4:3 monitor window surrounded by broad black border.

Has anyone run any games on a large screen with a full picture?

I'm running full screen on a 55" TV at 1920 x 1080. Looks pretty sweet, I must say. I've been using my TV as a monitor for the past 5 years, and I've never seen a game do the 'monitor size' thing that you describe.

Yeah, the 'monitor size' thing have to do with the TV settings. I guess he have it set on "unscaled", "pixel by pixel" or whatever it might be called, so when the game runs in a lower resolution than 1920x1080, it remains unscaled and is displayed inside a black box.

There are no settings on the Sony to adjust scaling as it is auto.
This should not make any difference as I am injecting the game signal from my video card directly into one of the four the Sony HDMI inputs.

Now that the DVD has arrived and I have the game installed its just a mater of going into the game settings / graphics / Video settings, then select the resolution that is best for your setup. i my case its MAX. Woo Hoo looks damn good too.
