Has dual-wielding... changed?

Post » Mon Dec 17, 2012 9:30 pm

Several months ago I was playing a dual-wielding character who used swords. Whenever I did a left-handed power attack while moving forward, it would be pretty much guaranteed to stagger the enemy for a second. The left-handed forward PA is slower than the right-handed forward PA, and so is easier to 'aim'. It was a nice feature, and I used it a lot.

Now, for some reason I can't pull off that move. I mean, I can do a left-handed forward PA, but it doesn't stagger.

Has something changed with the recent patches? I'm running with no mods whatsoever. Or am I just doing it wrong now?

Huh, I wonder if you're right.

My previous build I pretty much filled out the One-handed tree (or I tried to - I got up to lvl 20 or so before starting a new character).

With my current build I am only taking one rank in Armsman and only ranks in dual-wield specific perks after that. So currently I only have Armsman 1/5 and Dual Flurry 1/2.

I wonder if taking Fighting Stance or some other perks affects the animation/attacks you can actually do in a way that isn't advertised?
