So I'm a little late to the party, and I just got skyrim for pc (I've been playing on console). I got the creation kit and all that, but I'm having some technical issues with it. I was trying to build a player house, and when I pressed 'save', it froze, causing me to lose almost all of what I had. Then, after redoing all of that, having saved once already I pressed save again, and I got the message; "blahblahblah.esp is a master file or already in use, pick another file....". I could keep making a new file everytime I feel the need to save, but that seems a little tedious. I'm a newbie with this, so if anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong, it would be much appreciated.

Do you have Skyrim running but minimized in the background at the same time you're editing the file in the CK that you already have active in the game?

I'll try both of those out.

And no, the CK is the only thing I had running.
