HAVE ALL MY MONEY, BETHESDA!

Post » Tue May 08, 2012 2:40 pm

Before the forum gets overrolled by trolls, I′d like to ask a last question before I leave to pay the probably greatest game ever made for the next half decade:
I pre-ordered Skyrim at my local gamestop. I also ordered the strategy guide. I won′t ever read it, because I want to get lost, but I just need to have that thing. So, tomorrow morning at 9AM, I′ll be there before anyone else.

Now I just realized that Skyrim will be so unspeakably awesome, that I have to give Bethesda even more of my money! So I decided to go for the collectors edition. Now, of course, I haven′t preordered this one.
And as in the Game Stop, all CE′s are already pre-ordered by someone else, I decided to go to the next electronics and games market and look what they got there. They actually will be selling the CE, but it′s too late to pre-order one, they said. So I decided to beleaguer that store and sneak in as soon as it opens. This is easy as it opens at 10AM, one hour after Game Stop. So I will just tell the GS guys that I got a CE in range and that I′d return in an hour to tell them if I still want my order or not (btw will they keep the 10€ i payed in advance??).
Now the problem is that the store guy couldn′t tell me what price the CE would be by tomorrow. I didn′t preorder it for 150€ so I hope I wont have to pay any absurd prices because it will already by rare tomorrow?
He said they′d be watching amazon and try to get the lowest possible price (well, duh.) but what will this be? Can anyone give me a rough estimate of what I′m going to face?
I really can′t pay that much more than the inicial 150€ as I already will be bying a GTX 560 and 2gigs of RAM to play it in ultra.

tl;dr CE, how much will it cost by tomorrow?

This, but that is also considering you can even preorder the CE a day before the game comes out

It's 150$ U.S. Retail stores cannot increase the price of the CE on launch day because they don't have that many. It will be the same.

Also, it vastly depends on your gamestop. Usually they don't sell the CE's until a week or so after launch, because the kind of people that pre-order the CEs are the kind of people that would be really pissed if their preorder isn't there. Telling them there's one somwhere else probably won't help at all.

You can just cancel your pre-order at gamestop, though.

The famed triple post... You hear about it, but you never actually see it.

OP, i imagine it'll be ~150. Maybe a little more, but hopefully a little less. That's USD, I don't know the current conversion rate €.

Srsly??? It starts off at 149.99€ here which is about 190$. The Store im talking about isn′t a GameStop or even a agames store, they sell electronics and games too (Media Markt, if a german′s around here) and they′ll probably increase that price even more.

I′m really afraid of 300$ worth for my CE... but there′s no way I could wait until they sell it again in Game Stop.

And if I order it online it won′t be here by tomorrow... Or if you can find me an online store that actually delivers overnight, TELL ME.

Gamestop won't keep your money. They'll give it back to you in the same way you payed for it. So if you payed 10 in cash, then they'll give it back in cash. Credit, they'll put it back on the card. If you traded stuff in and have in store credit they'll give it back to you on a gift card--same for if you actually used a gift card. I worked at one for 3 yrs, and while I'm in the states, I can't imagine their return policy is any different. So if they try to tell you something else, they're probably just trying to get you to spend your money there and if you're adamant you can probably be reimbursed.

Nah, they didn′t tell me that, I just wasn′t so sure if the 5€ per product might be some kind of fee for getting the game earlier.

You misunderstood me here! I probably didn′t explain it right: I don′t mean to be an a??hole here, I just purchased two copies of the game, one for a friend one for me. I′ll be there with him and he′ll probably want it instantly, so I′ll tell them to hand me one copy and that I′ll return in an hour to tell them if I need the other one and the strategy guide or not.
Im not that kind of guy
