Have anyone tried a 'minion master' with high CHA?

Post » Thu Dec 02, 2010 1:10 am

Ive been debating about what to do for my next playthrough, and have considered a high cha build with a talker type that relies on his 'minion' to do the heavy lifting. So i am wondering if its feasible?

At 10 Charisma, followers gains +50 armor AND Damage!

At 5 Charisma its +25/25.

In my first playthrough I well noted how veronica tore through enemies with her ballistic fist, and im thinking if this is a feasible way of capitalizing on it? Of course it forces you to micromanage them and watch out for their health and tell them to use stimpacks.

Yep, there's no reason you couldn't do this. A PC user could mod up their companion limit too and be untouchable easily.

Companions are viable combatants.

I think the current limit is fine, or the game would just get boring.

But I think the question is, is it worth the hassle? since you cant easilly see the health of your followers unless you mouse over them, which can be difficult in a slugfest. Do they need super babysitting if you focus on maximising their potential?

You don't understand. Boone doesn't need managing of anything. In fact, if you could let him loose, he would probably go out and kill all of the NCR and Caesar's Legion in a 24 hour game window. He is that overpowered.

Well, he is a First Battalion Recon Sniper... He's just an ass when it comes to doing anything he doesn't like. Sure, he tears ass all over the wasteland. But when he's THAT picky, I'd almost rather have my GF as a companion along for the ride.

Babysitting is not required, especially Boone. I don't know if this is a bug or intended, but my companions appear to regenerate health. I've seen Boone take a machete to the face and I check his health after the fight and it's full. He took of at the Repconn Test Site and he and ED-E pretty much cleared the place while I investigated.

Checking in a slugfest is cake, pop into VATS and click the arrows to move about.

What about resource management? If I gave Boone the Anti-Materiel, would I have to constantly feed him 50 cal?

I think followers only have unlimited ammo for their starting weapon.
