have you ever compromised your morals for reasons that where out of your control?
The thread about bullying got me thinking, I assaulted my bully in 10th grade and it was really against my morals
I try and not to get physical unless im seriously threatened.

Another one of my morals is to never turn my back on my friends
and when i was 16 i worked in a super market and my boss was my friend outside of work and he got my job.
One day he came to me and asked me to cover for him because he was about to be in legal trouble, some girl said he [censored] her, but it wasnt true and i dont like to lie. He went to prison for 15 years before the girl came out and said she lied and said it didnt happen.

anything ever make you guys compromise your morals?

I don't understand what you said about your friend.

As for me, I either compromise my morals all the time, or very rarely depending on how you look at it. This is because I have several overlapping moral codes which often conflict with one another.

basically i value honest over anything
what happened was he was wanting me to say i was with him that night
and he wasnt and it was against my morals to do so but it was also against my moral character to turn my back on my friends
but i chose being honest over my friends and didnt, he got arrest and put in prison until the women said she lied

So he was sentenced to 15 years but only ended up being in prison for 8 years?

Depends. When they conflict i choose the better path. In your situation. I would have lied to protect my friend. If I knew the girl was lying. If a friend of mine [censored] someone then they would catch hell from me on a magnitude they would not believe.
