I hate to state the obvious, but have you tried plugging them straight into the wall and see if they turn on?
I'll try that a bit later and see if it works, quite a few things I am using are plugged into the strip. (Tbh I didn't think it would make a difference but i suppose everything is worth a go)
I'm guessing the fact that they just might not work has crossed your mind, and you should send/take them back for some new ones? Not much troubleshooting can be done for something as simple as plugging in the power cord.

Yes this has crossed my mind. Bit of an inconvenience having to go into town now, with it bein really busy D:
