Having a hard time deciding on a career path.

Hey guys.

So this isn't a doom and gloom "what am I going to do with the rest of my life waaaaaaaaaaaah" type thing, I'm more just concerned about my future and my family and what I am going to do to provide for them long term.

So yes, I graduated high school, I took a semester of community college, but I have no real "goals" or aim in my life as far as a career path goes. I am happily married, no kids yet, my wife and I both have jobs, she has a career, she is a full time nanny with years of experience, that's her path in life, and it's her passion. She makes *amazing* money, and is happy doing what she loves. She's set! But what about me? I have a job yes, but it's a job that isn't going to lead into me making 6 figures a year if you know what I mean.

I never had that epiphany moment in life that hit me in the face and said "THIS IS YOUR CAREER. THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO DO FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!" And honestly, I don't think many people do, not at my age of 24.

People ask me, "Well, what are you good at?" Da'hell? I don't know. I'm good at..video games? I'm good at..football? I'm good at..Monopoly? Like, you get my point? There is nothing (that I am currently aware of, at least) that I am "good" at that could lead to a potential career. My interest? Well, I have a huge interest in Astronomy, but I am not interested in math. I am interested in gazing at the stars, knowing their names, studying about galaxies and supernova's and the universe, but what's that get me? I'm not a physicist, and I sure have no interest in that. The math part of Astronomy isn't where I find my interest; it's the facts, the ideas, the "things", not their dimensions, mass, and gravitational fields. I ain't about dat life.

So, I guess my question is, how does one find out what career they want to pursue to take care of ones family in the future? I don't want to stay at my slightly above minimum wage job forever, nor can I if my wife gets pregnant. I guess I'm just more or less surprised that I have no clue what to do with my life as a career when I see other people my age already graduated from a 6 year college and have amazing jobs.

Maybe try doing something "easy" at first, something that keeps you going but lets you have enough leisure time to do other activities. Who knows, you might do that the rest of your life!

At least it'll give you time to explore the possibilities.
