Having a really difficult time getting back into Skyrim... A

Post » Tue Dec 11, 2012 6:42 am

So I originally played Skyrim upon release, and gleefully dumped much time into my character, which I then "retired". A little over a year later, I'm wanting to get back into the game especially since the upcoming DLC should arrive in a month or so on PCs.

I've since modded my game decently, upgrading the visuals immensly and tweaking or improving many of the gameplay elements.

But I'm having a difficult time just plain getting back into it, despite the improvements. I think that, in the span of time since I last played Skyrim, I played quite a few other games with more hard goals, objectives, handholding, and streamlined gameplay. Now it feels so difficult to just SLOW it down and role play, or at least play the game like a good TES game should be enjoyed and experienced.

Anyone else having the same issue? Any advice on how you overcame it?

One does not simply walk away from Skyrim....

Playing on PC you should have an easy time getting back into the game, what with all the mods that are out there. I play on xbox and went through a similar patch after taking a 2 week holiday to Crete. I found that by doing silly things in the game then playing a main character helped to get me back in the spirit. Go play a begger/bum/tramp, go mammoth surfing, explore the deep in the nvde. That kind of thing.
