I cant seem to figure how to go about getting the house. if someone could help me that would great.

you must first do the mission for the raven rock mine, then a day or so later someone will contact you with another mission regarding someone trying to assasinate the council leader. at the end of this mission you are awarded 10000 gold and the assasins house

Oh, thank you so much!! I was really puzzled why Veloth didn't have anymore conversation options after the 2 quests that he sends you on. I already have the mine quest in my list, so I am off to the mine!

read up on the quest
before you do it
and do a save BEFORE you go in
hate to see you stuck forever
cuz so many do not do saves

I think it depends on your level

The quest for the mine is not the trigger for the assassination quest. The quest for the Guard Capt is the one that needs completed first. It's a scripted encounter with attacking Ash Spawn just SE of Raven Rock.

yes but you stll/must do that mine quest before the next step happens

yes the ash quest starts first
but the other one will not start until you do that mine quest

since i do not want to do the mine quest
i will not get that house
it is tied together
