I'm cautious about this since he's said stuff along these lines in the past. If it is true however, I am disheartened about it. What disheartens me more is the fact I see fewer and fewer talented writers, artists, and filmmakers coming up as of late. That talent seems stiffled by producers who want the same, mundane garbage to shovel upon the masses and entertain them like some baby who giggles at he same thing over and over again without question or problem.

Spirited Away is still a masterpiece of a film, and rates up in my Top 5 favs of films to watch.

it was only a matter of time. it's far from a bad thing, it opens the position for a lot of fresh talent to come in and take his place. there's loads of great anime directors out there who haven't gotten a chance to shine.

he's leaving on a high note, too, since Kaze Tachinu looks really good. i honestly haven't been excited for a Miyazaki film in forever.
