Cowboy hat like the ''gray mercenary'' one in F:NV.

Hopefully I won't have to kill anyone in their sleep for it this time.

Would love the sherrif's hat to return. As for new hats, I'm surprised that with baseball caps, steel helmets, and hockey masks we never saw football helmets.

A classic Detective fedora or maybe a Tricorne hat, we are in Boston after all.

How about turbans or yarmulkes for some good old fashioned American cultural diversity. And extra role playing angles

I want to be able to wear a hood around a gas mask. That would be kick ass!

A Coronation Street style hairnet, complete with rollers.

Seems appropriate and even necessary for making those 50s era elaborate hairstyles we'll be wearing.

For some reason I have bad luck with hats. I mean, I find cool looking hats that look cool on NPCs but when my character puts one on it looks goofy, like it's too high on the head or the brim of the hat covers approximately 40% of the character's field of vision when viewed from 3rd-person. Roving Trader's Hat looked good though, so I used that in New Vegas. In Fallout 3 I initially (well, first hundred hours) had only the protection of my hairdo, but after playing The Pitt I used Filtration Helmet (+ Metal Armor).

In Fallout 4... I think I've been influenced by the default Sole Survivor's looks so much that I'll probably adventure bare-headed again, unless I find cool enough hat or a helmet.

I actually like Pipers outfit and hat - I hope it's available for the player to pick up. If not, a sombrero would be cool :-)

Park Ranger Hat would be glorious, especially if it means I can role play as a mounted police officer.

Women could wear the Pre War Hat. Wasn't that a fedora? I could be wrong but I thought it was. Yes! Related to this, I think a shemagh would be cool for certain characters, similar to the "Slave Scarf" in New Vegas. I agree! We need more gas masks in general. Hopefully this time they will do a better job of making sure hats look right when they are equipped by the PC.

Here's hoping hats actually look good on our PC. There's many times where I come across a potential good-looking hat only to put in on and be like "what in the [censored]???"

Wish there was more tribal content. Fallout lore creatures have some interesting parts to make ceremonial headdresses out of. Picture http://40.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8izmpsdVZ1rawb5do1_500.jpg, except with Deathclaw horns.

Definitely! I loved Salt in Wounds' helmet from Honest Hearts. Hell, I liked most everything about that DLC! Some tribal type gear would definitely be welcome IMO.

Hoping for the return of Riot Helmets, standard combat helmets (with at least one unique in black like FO3) and the Reinforced Combat Helmet.

My current idea for a outfit is layering leather and combat armour together with a combat helmet and a gas mask if I can. If I can get anything close to that beautiful Desert Ranger Armour I had on a older character with mods for built in waterbreathing, radiation resistance, and night vision optics I'm going to be very happy.

Funny thing, and I really don't know if this was just a nod to Dead Money or what, but in Fallout Shelter there is an armor called Wasteland Armor (or something like that) that looks exactly like the Hazmat suits the Ghost People wear in Dead Money.

I liked the Four eyes trait from NV, shame traits aren't returning, could've also had a -1 penalty for those who don't have the trait when wearing them (no hipsters allowed). Though it still could work with sunglasses: +1 when outside during the day, -1 at night, in badly lit rooms or other dark places.
