Healing in pvp

Post » Tue Sep 24, 2013 8:16 pm

So,
As I aim to be a dedicated full time healer, I was wondering whether pvp kills that people on my side that I heal, would count for me as well?
Or would you have had to have hit the target as well?

Same question could go for pve of course.

Anyone know? :-)

I'm against people who only heal getting credit for kills.
If they did, someone could just go around healing everyone and become number one badass super-PVPer.

No guts, no glory. It's nice that you want to help people, though, and I'm sure people will show their appreciation; but come on, kills are for killers.

I see what you mean but perhaps there can be an incentive to healing in some other way. Not sure what though.

Yeah. I'm not sure what the rewards for players who make lots of PVP kills is (if anyone wants to say, I'd love to hear it), but I'm sure there could be (and should be) a similar but different rewarding system for healers. Maybe especially if the system works out that the player who was healed would have died if he or she had not been healed (say they take a total of 50 damage, in a few seconds, are left with 20 health; then healed for 80 health and hit for 45 right after). In such situation, that healer is a wonderful, wonderful person. Especially if the healed goes on to shed the blood of High Elves.

Normally you will get credit for every kill the make if you heal them, dont think that will change. Maybe one heal isent enough but a few and you get credit.

I believe that the developers have said you get majority of Alliance Points for killing OR healing in PVP. In my experience it takes MORE guts to be a PVP healer, since everyone is trying to kill you.

That would fall under assists not kills, same as it works in any FPS shooter when one player does 99.9 percent of the damage, but didn't get the kill shot.

They've confirmed that healers will get points as well. You could become Emperor healing only, according to one interview that I don't feel like hunting for.

"Everyone"? Perhaps just the enemy, and that is the case for everyone involved in the fight. The difference is the healers (if they're smart, and smart is better than gutsy) will hold back from the front lines.

Healers tend to be the first target of smart damage dealers though.

Yes, but smart damage dealers cannot just waltz through the enemy's ranks. Perhaps we have different MMO experiences, but my experience is that smart/skilled healers do not die until the near the end of combat.
This is irrelevant to the discussion, of course.

Rogues (sneaking, invisibility) should be scissors on healers papers.
