Water washes away salt, which helps carry nutrients into the many cells or something.

So, without salt, you'd die.

Basically, it causes your brain to be flooded, as all your electrolytes essential for normal brain function are diluted by too much water.

Obviously it requires a lot of water ingested very quickly.
Most people throw-up the water before it can cause too much harm to the brain, so it's rare way to die.

Yes, you can become over-hydrated and die from drinking too much water.

It's true. If you drink like 6-8 litres of water in a very short period of time.

When so much fluid is in the body, it moves to places where it shouldn't be, like the brain and cause the brain to swell which is disasterous because there's no room for swelling because of the skull.

Too much of anything will kill you. Including air and water.

People can die from this also, by drowning in the water they throw up, but that would be caused by other factors involved, like you could not change your position, or you had passed out or something like that.

If your urine is a pale pale yellow, not clear and not dark yellow (really just noticeably darker than normal), you are drinking enough water to clean your system out and be hydrated. If you think your dehydrated, darker urine is one indicator, doctors say that a person should drink 8 oz of water every 15 minutes until you pee, then 8oz every 30 minutes until your urine runs clear. Note, in this case, you want your pee to be clear at some point to assure that you are re-hydrated.
