Heart of Lorkhan

Post » Sun Feb 03, 2013 5:42 pm

Is it possible that the heart stones are fragments of the heart of Lorkhan? This seems heavily hinted at when Talvas says he believes them to have come from the explosion of Red Mountain.

No. They are just volcanic rock from inside the mountain when it erupted.....

The Heart was likely still inside Red Mountain when it erupted. Normal volcanic rock doesn't bring people back from the dead, you know.

Is that stated directly? Like "Those are not parts of the Heart of Lorkhan, btw."?
If not, it's very possible. The name alone implies it.

I don't think they are parts of the heart, no. The heart cannot be destroyed by a god, so it couldn't be by Red Mountain.

My theory is they are rocks from the heart of Red Mountain where Dagoth Ur and the Heart resided. They were in the presence of the Heart for so long that they absorbed a tiny fragment of it's divine power. Thus, they are able to revive the dead.

Not the heart, just whispers of the power that once was.

I guess this makes the most sense.

So what can we do with the Heart Stones? I have mined some, but don't know what to do with them.

The most notable use is the Conjuration of Ash Guardians.

You need to buy the spell from Nelroth's apprentice, each cast automatically uses a heart stone.

What the dude said above. It's rock that has been influenced by the divine nature of the heart.. not the heart itself.

The heart itself had never a real form. What we see in Morrowind was a vessel created by the Dwemer to hold the heart's essence in place and tap into it with tonal enchantments.
When the vessel exploded in Morrowind, the heart itself was freed.

Such as the magma, and ash, and pretty much everything else in Red Mountain...hmmm...

Wait, did Dagoth Ur leave a body behind?

I was talking in a more metaphysical sense. ;)

Wait, did Dagoth Ur leave a body behind?

Good question.

pieces of the actual heart? i doubt it
its physical body was 'freed' when the neravarine broke its seal
very possible that they heart stones are pieces of red mountains core that had been able to soak up the energy constantly coming off the heart for millennia though
very obvious that its more than just volcanic rock
