Hearthfire announced

Looks like modders can look forward to utilizing some new crafting benches, and perhaps some additional dialogue options for "build a house" modders to utilize if they want to make their mods Hearthfire compatible.

For my sake, some of the new cooking animations / mechanics (baking, etc) seem pretty nifty, and would be a boon to http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1371050-wip-last-seed-primary-needs-and-primitive-cooking/.

Sorry if this has been posted in this forum already. If so, please lock and destroy.

Looks fairly interesting, I'll get it of course. I just got to have everything lol. Hopefully there are more to it than what was shown, like some little surprise.

I'm just going to keep plugging away on my mod that does the same thing...and after it's released for the PC, I can hopefully appropriate a better object placement system from it.

I would've hoped that things like additional crafting and baking animations/mechanics etc. would be patched in officially, not as a paid-for DLC :S They seem like less complicated additions than mounted combat (which I'm so happy is free!)

This looks like a way to get a popular mod (Build-your-own-home) available to console players while using whatever was begun in Gamejam; but it really seems to need more things as a DLC.

Sigh...I'm really hoping that we're getting spears and werebears + other things, cause I really don't think that we need a Sims package.

Word on the street is that it will be much cheaper than Dawnguard (around $5). If that's true then the level of content probably makes sense.

For my part, I'm a bit irritated that this is what they decided to use the name Hearthfire for. I was going to use that name for a future survival mod. I mean, it's their name, they can do anything they want with it, but... I guess I was hoping for something more substantial, given that it's a cool name (and I can't use it now). Oh well.

But, those animations do look nice, and I hope they end up in the data files of Skyrim.esm in a future patch instead of being stuck in Hearthfire.esm.

It says in the video that it's 400 MSP, which is $5 USD, since 1600 was $20.

Not a bad little kit :). Be interesting just to get under the hood and see how all the new systems work, seeing as how I'm doing a kinda similar thing for my Guild.

I'm very excited for this release. When should we expect it, in October?
