I recently purchased the new DLC Hearthfire but I do not seem to have it for some bizarre reason. I do have a "ValveTestApp220760" under DLC, which some have said is Hearthfire, but in my steamapps>common>skyrim>data folder, none of the Hearthfire files are there. I did a full reinstall of Skyrim and the files still aren't there. What's up?

I am also having the same problem. Bought the DLC, told it to install, but no .esm file. Is there a way to reinstall it from Steam? Steam says I own the DLC.

Steaam says I own Dawnguard, japanese Dawnguard and the ValveTestApp220760.

And Steam does not show the Hearthfire Achievements.

But I can download the Hearthfire files.

Strange

Reinstalling, then re-verifying and defragmenting the files fixed the missing file problem for me, though I still have the same strange DLC list and missing achievements as Lord of Light.
So far steam haven't explained what happened.

I have the same problem.
I don't have Hearthfire in the View Downloadable Content window, but I do have the Valve TestApp thing Lord mentioned.

EDIT: Alright, I have it showing up now. To fix it, I did what Lannister did, minus the reinstalling. All you have to do is go to Properties (by right clicking Skyrim in the Library List) &--#62; Local Files. Then click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Then, once that finishes, click Defragment Cache Files. No reinstall required!

EDIT2: Hearthfire still appears as TestApp however, and I don't have the achievements. Further investigation will commence.

EDIT3: Alright, my method works. Despite the achievements not appearing, I'm still able to complete them.

None of those steps are working for me.
Is there any other method?

Exactly the same thing happening here. Guess its a Steam issue. First time I run HF it was in the esm list. Had to unclick it as there are clashes with the unofficial patches. Now I do not have the HF esm but the same messages in the Steam log as you guys above.

Would love a fix for this. A disappointing start to something I was far more excited about than Dawnguard. Reinstalling, defrag and verification have all failed me and steam has no option to download it.

Verification has sorted it for me, however I still have Japanese version of DG??!?!?!?

so, took me more than a few tries, but eventually verification and defrags got it going for me.

I've followed the Veriifcation and Defrag steps and it works for me now. At least it shows on the local HDD.
Note that after running the verification, Steam poped a message saying the Skyrim finished downloading.

This did not work for me but I am dragging my feet on the reinstall. Those of you that are still having problems, are you running mods/skse/nexus?
