I know the economy's suffering, but are we really at the point where we have to ask if something is worth $5?

I'm fairly certain I find the money for Hearthfire behind my sofa on a weekly basis...

Not everyone is having bugs and glitches, but there is always the chance of it happening, or not happening if you're lucky. It's only $5 so I would get it, I love the idea of building a house, and if you're not that into it, at least you will always know that you have the option to do so. If you end up not liking the DLC at least you can tell yourself "it was only $5".

For me, at least, it's been worth all 500 pennies.

It's funny, I never bought many games in the last Steam sale because the prices weren't as low on the ones I wanted as I was hoping for. While I was browsing the sales, I was gorging myself on takeaway food that cost far more than even the highest priced publisher collection, with no sense of irony.

I've only realised this now...

Edit: And I have now just ordered more takeaway to comfort myself as I contemplate my own scroogeness...

Haven't had any problems with it so far, and I was actually pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy building my own house. And, as others have said, it's only 5 bucks.

Yes it's worth it.

its only about £3.40 here in the U.K, not even enough for a 4 pack of beer, lol

the amount of hours of fun this dlc will give makes its worth every damn penny, well worth it

Given it's only just release, bugs are inevitable. Even with the niggles (bloody skeever in my house!) and bugs, I've been enjoying the hell out of it personally. I'd say worth it =]

I downloaded it a couple of hours ago, and I have to say that I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I even enjoyed it much more when I discovered that my vampire can have a coffin in the cellar.

It's a nice little DLC, I'm really enjoying it. :D

Is it worth it? I say yes and no. Yes since it's $5, BUT that is also what 10% of the cost of the game? Compared to what you get in vanillia Skyrim, we are really overpaying

By that logic, a footlong sub is 10% of the content of Skyrim. And Skyrim is 20% of the content of Windows.

In other words, that logic is bad logic.

How is it bad? From what I know, we don't have much quests, not sure if any is added, we don't have no new spells, weapons, NPC enemies. All we have is the ability to build a house and adopt kids. Mind you I am not complaining, but content wise, we are getting far less from what we paid for the vanillia game. Or is we go this way, maybe Skyrim should have costed $200 then with the content that we got.

I also remember something like Hearthfire was given away for FREE for Morrowind as "plug ins".

Not complaining, glad to have Hearthfire, and can't wait to try it out.

The point is that DLC pricing isn't determined by its content relative to the original game.

Hearthfire adds a whole level of gameplay to the original game. You can't sum it up by saying "3 houses=1/15 of a dragon-slaying".

And when Morrowind was out, there was no such thing as DLC. The plugins were the occasional minor-but-fun extras that Bethesda still throws in with Skyrim patches. Hearthfire already adds far more to the game than any of those plugins did.

I'm not bothered about the cost, cos it is pretty paltry, but am kinda annoyed I can't just jump straight into it without appeasing a bunch of miserable noblemen... It wouldn't have killed the initial design for the the plots to have been offered to buy due to the economic crises caused by civil blahblahmwerrghh.... Rather than do a few quests I don't have much interest in... And why can't I eat the children should I choose to adopt? Bad move, Bethesda. j/k, it looks fun, but I did wanna just chill with a coupla tinnies and design my own Tower of Filth tonight...

To be honest with you, I think it's a snip. All i've done all day is build my house up. This is my fourth playthrough now and i'm only lvl 19, don't have much money but there's pleny to be spent. From a role play perspective it adds a little bit more immersion. Yeah it's worth it. Aaaanyway, i'm gonna go spend $5 on pack of cigarettes.....

Not really, IMO. I was lead to believe you could actually customize your home. Instead I pick three wings and everything else is pre-set. I'll probably keep using Breezehome so it was a waste of $5.
