Heavy armor and left side of smithing tree?

Post » Wed Jan 02, 2013 9:47 am

My Nord character is wearing heavy armor and I'm actually going up the left side of the smithing tree.

He has been wearing iron, and steel, will skip elven as the true Stormcloak/Elf killer that he is, and will then use the DLC introduced heavy armors by both Dawnguard and Dragonborn that use the Advanced Armors perk. I'll then skip glass until I reach dragon.

It seems a "traditional" Nord choosing to wear heavy armor should go up the left side. I just don't see him using Dwarven, Orc, Ebony and Deadric.

Anyone else doing this? Maybe I just realized this and everybody's already doing it, but I normally play light armor so I've never really thought about it from a heavy standpoint.

Actually Nords wear heavy armor, I'm i think the Nordic Carved in Dragonborn is on the right side.

So i'd go right, and then left. Cause you can also get Stalhrim with ebony

Well I guess if you use a steel great sword and wear steel plate armor, you'll do fine.

Will you feel bad if I told you that I went to the right side and find your reasoning silly?

Nordic Carved uses the Advanced Perk (left side), that's the thing. It's the Stalhrim that uses ebony. Same with the Dawnguard heavy armor (advanced perk).

Nah, but is it that silly? I just don't see a Nord in ebony and dwarven. Deadric I've never been a fan of for any race. Too Sauronesque.

Silly as in Deadric Armor?

That's a different tangent altogether.
