I'll be using light armor, although I probably won't wear a helmet unless they look really cool on my Argonian. I'm generally not in favor of helmets.

Neither, robes. Best to pick the one controlled by your dominant sign.

If you plan on maxxing the tree's, heavy is undoubtedly better. Weighs nothing, doesnt slow you down, its armor rating will be jacked through roof to boot, and you get -fall damage and - stagger, and reflect damage.

They provide mana regeneration. And allow perks like mage armor.

Light armor will always be better for sneaking. Not much of a consolation prize, but it is what it is. I admit that I am tempted to change my build, as I'm pretty sure I could still succeed at the missions even while wearing heavy armor, but perks are so rare in this game and it's cheaper to max out light armor than heavy armor.

Why warrior will take at least 5 perks in Heavy armor!

Light armor is for thieves and magic users

Light Armor as I don't like the idea of using Heavy Armor without Block. I'm weird like that.

Don't Forget: Enchantment!

As for me, I'm rolling a very agile pure warrior with light armour.

True, but they look badass. And that trumps all other factors.

The black hand robes did look pretty sweet in Oblivion. I wonder if there will be any cool non-robe clothing in Skyrim as well. Most of the clothing options in Oblivion just didn't look that good. I had intended to invest all of my perks into light armor, one-handed, sneak and speech. If I went with clothing or robes, that would free up ten perks giving me 11 free perks to spend by level 50. I'll probably stick with the light armor, even though my disdain for helmets prevents me from benefiting from four of the perks.

That's what people have said. Perhaps the perk is poorly worded and it will still apply, but I doubt it. I don't see how not wearing a helmet would affect stamina regeneration, but this game isn't about to change its mechanics simply because of my desire to see my character's face. Regardless, I don't intend to invest in armor perks until around level ten or eleven, so I should have enough time to try on a few helmets to see what they look like. Maybe I'll find something that doesn't bother me. Or maybe I'll find some cool clothes, as I mentioned, and skip armor perks altogether. I'll be maxing out the sneak tree, anyway, so avoiding damage is my character's primary defense.
