A bit like Herbert from Family Guy.. What he is preaching is sort of wrong (all about hating elves and rising up etc.) but he should be free to say what he likes wether people agree with it or not.

I've never murdered him before. Once attempted to kill him by shooting an arrow straight up in the air after seeing it in a video, never succeeded, so I let him live.

After Dawnguard though, there is no telling what an angry, hungry vampire lord can do.

i used a frenzy spell on him and let the guards do it while i went to do something else

i have not once killed him or even formed a mild distaste for him. i actually think he is a cool guy (then i found the skulls in his home, now i just avoid him all together)

If I were to kill hime it would be the werewolf frenzy where the player rips his face off with their claws.

He's my new adorable fan in terms of irritating characters. Usually I kill him in his sleep, but sometimes I feel creative and use the poison pickpocket or a frenzy spell.

Heimskr should be a marriable NPC. Imagine being woken up at 2AM by him screaming about Talos in his sleep..

Also, OT: Heimskr is not stupid, especially since he preaches about a real-life figure, who did ascend to godhood....and furthermore, killing him just makes him a martyr. The only good justification for doing so would be based on his support of the Stormcloaks, though since he's a civilian (and a clergymen) he is not a military target, and his opinions should be respected, as long as he does not aid or abet the enemies of the Empire.

My thalmor sympathizer character is incredibly annoyed by Heimskr praising that heretic Hjalti, so I recently stabbed him to death in his sleep with a bound sword, to leave no trace at all....
