Hell FireStorm Shout...

Post » Sun May 13, 2012 9:31 pm

Do you think we'll have the ability to have a hell fire/storm shout?

Or

Do you think Alduin will have exclusive shouts ONLY for him (this being one of them)?

Im pretty sure todd said that we can use all the dragon shouts, that the actual dragons can. Some are just harder to get and have much longer cool downs

That was not Alduin. That was a Jill. I don't think Bethesda would tease us like that. They would get a lot of complaints.

Spoiler
We've been getting conflicting reports, one person said that its Mirmulnir, the first dragon that you fight, implying he saw it from...a live...thing.

Another person said they saw a subtitle screenshot of the one leaking thing, and it said Alduin.

Not sure who to believe, if either

It's not Mirmulnir, as he appears rather close in appearance to the standard "dragon" we have seen from most of the gameplay demos on the tundra area.

Ah okay then! Well then I am apt to beleive that it is indeed Alduin, certainly looks like the concept art.

Alduin is a god. When he arrives crap will go down. Even moreso than what that black dragon caused. Besides what business would a god have to be flying around to random villages and destroying them?

We're all speculating Alduin's purpose based off of what we've heard- what's more, that's no more Alduin than it was Akatosh in Oblivion: They're avatars of Alduin/Akatosh, not the Gods theirselves.

Me thinks a god would not make the mistake of letting the only mortal capable of defeating it in future live.

lol, if that were the case, couldn't he- being a God- just found our Dovahkiin at birth and kill him?

A game is still a game.

But we're getting off topic...

Ah, but this game's story is based on prophecy. And in almost all stories based around prophecies....the villain/antagonist ensures his own defeat by trying to prevent it. If the dragon, whether it was Alduin or not had never attacked Helgen, our hero would have been executed like everyone else.

On top of that, clearly the gods in the elder scrolls are not omniscient and all powerful, in fact the gods are slaves to what the mortals believe they are thanks to that pesky Lokharn

I would think/hope this is Alduin exclusive, if the player can get it, I hope it isn't in till you defeat Alduin and take whatever soulish thing powers a god's avatar, for only something that powerful can give you the ability.

You folks can discuss this stuff but refrain from making it a topic about "leaked anything" and moderator actions or inactions. Just stay on topic, discuss it and forego the rest. That shouldn't be too difficult. :) I deleted off topic discussion about leaks and moderator stuff.

Spoiler
Mirmulnir isn't any of the dragons from the various legitimate demos and videos we have seen of the tundra area. Mirmulnir is a black dragon and looks identical to the dragon who attacked Helgen and is mentioned in dialogue to be the same dragon that attacked Helgen. He's also named, and not simply labelled "Dragon" on his health bar.

Man, I hope we can use that, cause that shout was incredible. The effect on the sky was pretty amazing, and I'll feel pretty damn powerful if I could pull that off.

Yes, in the E3 Demo. Storm call is similar to the "Hell Fire" or "Meteor Shower" in question. So I really hope that we are capable of using it. It'll bring back some of my Might and Magic memories... In fact, it already has :tes:

Actually, Storm Call was mentioned to be one of the most powerful shouts... so there probably aren't too many stronger shouts.

Have you ever read "Desperation" by Stephen King?
It may be fate that would keep Alduin from letting the Dovahkiin die. I'm not saying that the dragon in the beginning is Alduin; I'm just saying that the plot has been used before.
